The best hotel I've ever used, and I'm comparing it with some of the best hotels around the world, including hotels in London (Claridges, The Savoy, The Cadogan and others) and top class hotels in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Helsinki, Madrid, Paris, New York and Vienna; I could go on, but I'm in danger of inflicting embarrassment. It was pretty and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful beyond words, from the manager and reception staff through to the parking valet. The food and drink was excellent; my lobster was particularly good, and my views are shared by my fellow guests/family. I write reviews extremely rarely, and this is very much an exception (if not unique) but, circumstances permitting, I'll be back.

Superb, worth every penny, Amazing location, fabulous views, wonderful room (junior suite), delightful staff, comfortable bed, excellent pool and other facilities and top class restaurant. The menu degustation with a bottle of Edonist wine was simply divine. Without a doubt one of the loveliest hotels I have stayed at in my nearly 60 years on this planet. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Le Vieux Castillon, my wife and I enjoyed every minute at your hotel: thank you for such a lovely time.

We had the most wonderful stay at La Vieux Castillon! The hotel and views were idyllic, the staff kind and attentive, and the food absolutely delicious. We visited as we are considering hosting an event at the property, and were particularly impressed with Salomée, who was professional, knowledgeable, and able to answer all of our questions. In short, we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to escape the city and recharge!

Beautiful hotel for a very relaxing break. Room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. Staff very friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and we were disappointed. Food was good but portions were so small. Wine was very good. We left the restaurant still hungry and we do not have large appetites Overall we enjoyed our stay.

This property is stunningly beautiful. We stayed in two rooms, one was perfect, the other room did have some mildew odors. The food is exquisite, the staff are friendly and professional. I even witnessed one woman working the desk keep her calm and professional demeanor with a pair of very upset German lawyers (they had made a mistake when booking, and were trying to blame the hotel). Our only other complaint was that the pool was experiencing a leak during our stay and was not usable. These things happen. Also note: there are very few other places to eat in this village.

We booked the Terrace Suite and were downgraded due to overbooking. The hotel did not really apologize and did not seem to care. Access to the hotel is poor. The pool offers little shade and is not suitable for children. There are better hotels in the area than this one.
