Having just returned from another brilliant stay in Kilronan Castle I had to say what a great stay it was. We were there for 4 nights in a castle room which was beautifully furnished with fabulous views over Lough Meelagh. Staff were so welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for Mary and Neha at breakfast. We ate in the Palm court and also Ramona showed us the way to the lovely patio where we enjoyed an amazing sandwich in the sunshine. Food was delicious. The castle is magnificent as are the grounds with plenty of walks by the lake and through the woods. Also we used the leisure centre with its swimming pool a couple of times. It’s always sad leaving this unique place. However we look forward to another stay soon. Robert and Allen. Belfast.

Myself and my mum recently visited the beautiful Kilronan Castle for an Afternoon tea. It was an exceptional experience… the atmosphere… the service and the quality of food was amazing. I am a Coeliac and so much thought and effort was made to ensure my experience was as tasty as my mums. Would highly recommend an afternoon tea experience in Kilronan.

What a fantastic hidden gem of luxury and relaxation. We had a lovely time here and cannot wait to return. We arrived before our check in time expecting having to wait but not only was our room ready we had been upgrade to the most beautiful suite. The lady who checked us in made us feel so welcome taking time to show us to the lift and explaining where everything was located. Our room was decorated very tastefully and was immaculate. Our 4 poster bed was very comfortable. The meal we had in the Douglas Hyde restaurant on our first night was by far one of the top meals we have ever had in an Irish hotel. The waiting staff were so knowledgeable and courteous Aoibhe was especially friendly. We were there for storm Eowyn and even though the driveway was blocked with trees and some staff couldn’t travel to work the service at breakfast was fantastic. We were greeted by Ann who made us feel like we were the only guests there even though she was so busy. Unfortunately the storm knocked out the power in the spa and the generator only covered the hotel and leisure centre so the treatments we had booked had to be cancelled. We had lunch in the bar and dinner there on the second evening again beautiful food a lovely menu and very attentive polite staff. We were delighted to have found Kilronan and have both agreed we will make it our annual break away without the children to relax and switch off. The staff are lovely the decor and ambience are second to none and we cannot wait to return. Thank you Kilronan

The hotel bar is in a state of disrepair, with furnishings that are worn and unkempt to the point where I felt uncomfortable sitting in the seating area. The chairs were visibly damaged, with noticeable rips, and appeared unclean, which falls short of the standards expected of a four-star hotel. In comparison, the decor and furnishings in areas such as the library and dungeon bar are markedly more refined, cleaner, and better maintained. While the staff were attentive and the atmosphere was generally relaxing, the condition of the bar’s furniture significantly detracted from the overall experience, and I believe it is an issue that should be addressed to maintain the hotel’s four-star rating. The food in the bar was good and rooms were ok again dusty and parts were grubby like the wall paper ripped on the wall and also cold. No bottled water only what appears to be tap water again not to a high standard that the hotel claims to uphold. First impressions are important and this to me was not a great first impression but could be easily fixed!

We just got home yesterday after a 2-night stay. Fantastic hotel, beautiful grounds and excellent staff. My Wife was unfortunately unwell the entire stay so special mention to Victor for the bedtime toast and Ann for the morning hot honey and lemon's. Thank you to Ann for the lovely note left at reception for us when checking out. Ann clearly loves her job and is a credit to this hotel. The Guinness was great and at €6 could not complain! I just wish I had a few more. We look forward to returning again in the future.

We spent an evening at Kilronan castle where we celebrated a special occasion for my wife. The F&B team did a fantastic job and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We had the chefs table tasting menu. The food was fabulous and expertly described by F&B manager, Alex. We thoroughly enjoyed our night. The castle was beautifully decorated for Christmas.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights (including New Years’ Eve). We visited the spa and had treatments, dined in the casual restaurant for lunch and dinner, enjoyed 2 breakfasts, entertainment in the Dungeon Bar, relaxed and read newspapers with the library, walked the extensive grounds and enjoyed the New Years’ Eve 8 course tasting menu. I have stayed in lots of 4 and 5 star properties in Ireland over the past few years and have to say that this hotel really stood out in terms of service, decor and ambiance, warmth, food quality and presentation. There were also 2 weddings which took place but we did not hear or see them, which meant that we could continue to enjoy our break away. Many thanks to all the staff. We hope to return in the future.
