Champagne Castle Hotel

We were welcomed warmly and booking in was fast. our rooms were spotless and we enjoyed the sherry to start. Bathrooms were large and extras were a nice touch. The weather was fabulous and we enjoyed our walks in the surrounds. Staff were friendly and the food spreads are all delicous. We spent time at the surrounding attractions and we were sad to leave this part of paradise.

Simple booking, well positioned in the Drakensberg, good for hiking, spacious & comfortable rooms, excellent service, and wide selection of food.

Champagne Castle hotel is right in the Drakensberg mountain so has the most fantastic views. The rooms are great, staff very friendly and the food is out of this world. Perfect. Our only wish would be to have had an old style map such as the ones Monks Cowl - Ezemvelo - provide for hiking. We can’t wait to return.

A real gem in the heart of the central Drakensberg. Buffet style meals catering for every possible taste with an incredible variety of beautifully presented food every meal. Wonderful ambience with a friendly staff who attend to your every request with a smile. Tranquil place to really enjoy the beauty of the area with a myriad things to do if you so desire. We just soaked in the beauty

I think it was the 5th time we went to Champagne Castle in the last 10 years. The location is fantastic, the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious with all the amenities you could need. The food is absolute wonderful. It is a place where you can totally relax and take some breath. Thank you very much - we will surely visit you for the six time.

My partner and myself have recently spent 10 nights at Champagne Castle Hotel, and it was absolutely fabulous. The last time that I stayed at Champagne Castle Hotel was about 50 years ago, and when my partner and myself decided to have a holiday in South Africa from England, I thought that I would try and show him the Province of KZN which is where I am from originally, and he had never been to KZN. We arrived from Heathrow and went to Cheetah Ridge Lodge at Nambiti, for 4 nights and then came to Champagne Castle Hotel for 10 nights. What a transformation Champagne Castle Hotel has undergone from 50 years ago. It is truly a wonderful Hotel and Resort, with Conference and Spa facilities. From making our reservation direct with the Hotel, and sending emails backwards and forwards, and asking all sorts of questions, and having them answered by the reservations team, on a very courteous and professional basis, to arriving at this lovely hotel, and being met by the reception team, who took care of our luggage and arranged for someone to show us to our room. We had arrived in time for lunch, and what a spread, lunch was. In fact every meal was truly delicious. There was something for everyones tastebuds. We loved sitting in the lounge next to the bar, and enjoyed the fireplace and the relaxed atmosphere. We chatted to Mark, who is the General Manager, and who really has his fingers on the pulse of things. Nothing was ever too much problem for him, he lit the fire in the fire place for us regularly, always made the time to come and chat with us. My family arrived at us having been there for 6 days, and they were made equally welcome by all members of the Hotel. I am sure we have all put on weight with the delicious food, and the morning and afternoon, tea with scones. We went for some lovely walks. Thank you Mark and your whole team for making our stay exceptional. We shall be back.
