The Hotel is large and well-equipped, but the apartments are in bad shape. The walls are peeling, the flooring is stained, and the beds are old and uncomfortable. The bathrooms are not very clean either—there were dirty towels in my bathroom when I arrived, and there was a strong smell of mildew. The staff were friendly enough, but it felt like they weren't really motivated to do anything more than make sure we had enough towels to hand out.

I used to love this hotel. It was always great, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. But now… it's not what it used to be. The staff is rude, and the rooms are smaller than they used to be. The lobby is dark and depressing, and there's nowhere to sit except for the chairs by the door (which don't recline). The food has gotten really expensive, too—it used to be much cheaper than other hotels in area with similar amenities.

I booked a room at this hotel on the phone and proceeded to make payment through their website. I was told that it would take about an hour for my credit card to be processed, but when I checked back after an hour, there was no record of my request. After another hour had passed (and nothing had been processed), I called them again, and was told that they couldn't find my reservation. After another hour of waiting, I finally got through to someone who could tell me what went wrong: they had entered both my credit card information and my reservation into their system incorrectly. The hotel staff is not trained in customer service or computer programming.

First off, I'd like to say that I really enjoyed my experience at this hotel. The location is great and the pool was amazing, but unfortunately some things were not as great. The taxi system at this hotel is very unsafe. I was robbed by an unknown person while waiting for a cab outside of the hotel. The cab driver attacked me with a knife and stole my wallet, which had all of my money in it. The changing rooms were dirty and smelled terrible, which made me feel uncomfortable while trying to change into different clothes before going out for my evening activities. I would definitely recommend staying somewhere else unless you want to be robbed or have dirty changing rooms!

I've been to this resort twice, and it is the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. The rooms are dirty, the staff is rude, and they don't give you any help when you need it. The beds are uncomfortable and there are no blankets available by request. The food is terrible as well - there's not enough of it at breakfast or dinner, and it's often cold. You can always expect to be charged for extra drinks if you want another one—even if all you ordered was 1 glass of wine! The pool area is so small that people are forced to stand up in the water while swimming because there's nowhere else for them to sit or swim comfortably! This place is a joke - do NOT stay here!

"The rooms seemed to be ok, I regret requesting an extra bed because it was so bad though the butler had exerted much effort that the bed will be comfortable". The bed was so hard, Sorry Abaca, you need to make some changes...

From Cebu’s International Airport, "I was greeted by the driver and made my way through the busy roads of Mactan Island, and 10 minutes later, uncovered the small but perfectly formed Abaca Boutique Resort. It was very private and intimate. I experienced excellent service all throughout my stay. Their rooms and amenities are beautiful. This is one of those resorts where I never leave during my visit because i know it can't find anything better outside the walls. Pool is excellent." I would highly recommend Abaca to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation with amazing service and excellent, delicious food.

Seriously exceptional hotel with service that rewrites the rules. It was my first time visiting Cebu, and it was our 2nd night in the province. I held such high expectation from their previous rewards and all the amazing reviews, and they certainly did not disappoint. From check-in to drop off to the airport, I was totally spoiled. They use the best ingredients they can reach throughout their F&B service. Lovely quiet poolside with cabanas. Excellent food at the restaurant. Amazing breakfast. It is very private, and their customer service is far better than the commercialized five-star hotels elsewhere. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE AND WOULD DEFINITELY COME BACK! A VERY DELIGHTFUL STAY!!
