Last minute decision to stop here on our way to Calais. Got a fantastic deal by going direct to hotel with upgraded room. Because it was so hot we wanted somewhere with a swimming pool. Pool and facilities fabulous, food amazing, room superb. Drinks expensive but expected that. Half board deal very good value. The setting is amazing, highly recommend.

We booked 2 nights to stay in France and decided to break the journey up by staying at this hotel. After a long drive from the UK, we arrived and checked in. We asked the receptionist where the restaurant was as we were hungry and she told us that in 5 minutes the restaurant would be closing. We hurried immediately to the restaurant (which was right by the reception so only seconds away for us), only to be told that it has already closed. They told us all we could have was some pizza in the bar or chips. They could see that we were not very impressed with this and they then came back and said they could also offer us a salad. We asked if there were any other restaurants we could visit in the area but were told no. We were served a burnt pizza and a salad which we had to eat on a very low table which was not very comfortable. This is not the warm welcome that we expected and had hoped for, we were guests that had booked to stay not just a walk in and so this was disappointing.

Last minute booking as a stop over from a holiday which was cut short. The building itself and the room, was tired and outdated. Like it would have been modern 25 years ago. Setting was lovely, right on the edge of a large lake. Pricing doesn’t seem to correlate with the standard of the surroundings, €175 for a double room, which was a €120 room at best. €12.60 for a 500ml 1664, which I questioned as thought it must be wrong, but apparently not! Simply ridiculous. They either need to massively update the hotel, or massively drop the prices!

Excellent service globally, including the restaurant and rooms. Solutions found, friendly, proactive, pretty location looking over the lake with delicious cuisine and fine wines. Two things really strike you about the hotel - the location overlooking the lake is very attractive, it is peaceful and dark at night. The cuisine is very good indeed, a large menu with food well cooked at presented with very good service. The dining room is very attractive, overlooking the lake with a nice terrace and bar area outside. Rooms are simple but comfortable, clean and adequately equipped for a short stay. Ideally placed as a stop over going north or south or to explore the area with the sites of the battle of the Aisne and Chemin des Dames.

This was our first stay, chosen as it was a convenient stopover on our way back to the UK from the Alps. The hotel is in a lovely location, nice and quiet, on a lake near the golf course. It's a few miles/km from the motorway, which wasn't great in the pouring rain, but was worth it when we arrived. The staff were helpful and very friendly. The food was excellent. Our room was large, well appointed, comfortable and well decorated/maintained. The following day we had a good breakfast before covered the final 2+ hours to Calais. The hotel more than met our needs, so we'll definitely consider staying here again.
