Changsha Xiangjiang Hotel 1968

Extremely satisfied with this stay! This hotel is truly special, not one of those cookie-cutter establishments, but rather it boasts its own unique style and ambiance, making you feel incredibly comfortable and relaxed. The service was absolutely impeccable; every staff member was so warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. We will definitely be returning with our family next time. Highly recommended!

Rich in history and culture. The transportation is convenient, and the daily afternoon tea is a warm touch. The butler service is very attentive and thoughtful. The breakfast is rich and delicious. I made the right choice for accommodation and will definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

The Xiangjiang Hotel is an old building steeped in history, carrying the unique historical essence of Changsha. During my stay, it rained continuously for days. Staying in this old building and watching the rain over the Xiangjiang River had a unique charm. The room was clean and tidy, the environment was quiet and elegant, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. The overall experience exceeded my expectations. Traveling alone, I felt very safe staying here, and I highly recommend it. The front desk staff, a few young women and one young man, were all very helpful and considerate.

The environment is charmingly old-fashioned, and the location is excellent, very close to many attractions. It's also very clean.

The decor is beautiful and totally my style, especially the bathroom design which is absolutely gorgeous. The service is also very attentive; everyone from the front desk, the butler, the cleaning staff, to the chefs and waiters in the restaurant were wonderful. I've already recommended it to my friends and family.

Check-in: We arrived quite early (a little after 7 AM) and were able to check in immediately. We even got a two-level room upgrade, ending up in a ground-floor room with a bathtub. The room was spacious, and the bathroom and toilet area were huge. The bathtub was big enough for one person and came with bath salts, a loofah, and a phone holder. The bed was very soft and comfortable. There was a reclining chair in the room with a bedside lamp next to it, perfect for lying down and looking at my phone at night with just the lamp on, then turning it off and going to bed when I got sleepy. Afternoon tea was provided, and the fruit and braised peanuts were delicious. The fruit selection at breakfast was excellent, with sweet red pitaya, watermelon, and even sweet prunes (rare to see prunes offered!). Breakfast offered four set menus; we tried two, and the steak option was particularly good. Unfortunately, we had to leave in a hurry and missed out on the travel photography and luggage delivery service to the high-speed rail station. Transportation: The hotel has a shuttle bus that can take you to the community entrance (the hotel is located within the community). I added their customer service on WeChat beforehand, and they sent me a very useful image showing how to get a taxi to the hotel entrance. The hotel's location is good, close to the attractions we wanted to visit. However, it's a bit far from the subway. When taking a taxi, you might encounter drivers not coming, but if you're patient, someone will eventually pick you up. Facilities: Although laundry service was available, I needed my clothes washed and dried quickly. So, I took them to be washed myself and had the hotel help with drying and returning them to the room, which I appreciated. The soundproofing, as others have mentioned, isn't perfect near the door, where you can hear outside noise. However, I didn't hear anything from the rooms next door, so it wasn't an issue for me.

This hotel is a conversion of a former mansion, similar to the Ruijin Intercontinental or Xinxin Hotel, which gives it a lot of character. You can even try on qipaos at the front desk and book a photographer. They offer 3 free photos, but the shots were so good that we ended up paying extra for more! 😂 The bathroom in the room is super spacious, which is a big plus – a nice soak in the evening really helps with tired calves. The restaurant offers a set menu plus a buffet, and they even gave us an extra main course for our group of three. Soundproofing in the rooms felt average, but it was very quiet at night for sleeping. The overall facilities and service at the hotel are excellent, especially the service, which I highly recommend. The only downsides are its location in a residential area, meaning a bit of a walk to the subway, and it's best to use Didi for taxis as other apps like Baidu aren't very accurate for navigation here. The hotel's footprint is quite small, which limits its potential, but overall, it's still highly recommended.

The service was good. The place is picturesque, great for photos. It's centrally located, making it convenient to go anywhere, and we had a comfortable night's sleep. The breakfast and afternoon tea were also delicious.

My parents both loved it; it was comfortable, clean, and unique. Plus, after a long day of sightseeing, you could even take a relaxing bath.
