1) Location is superb. Right smack in the ancient city and 50m from the landmark guangji gate. You can walk everywhere to do your visits and taste street food & other gourmets . You can even get on a trishaw & do a slow sightseeing of the city among the interesting streets outside the non-traffic square
2) hotel is new about 6 months old. Clean and full amenities . The bed is comfortable and good. We are not familiar with the light switches so had trouble switching to dim lights at night
3) there’s a lift and a laundry area downstairs
4) service is perfect . Our room came with breakfast. Breakfast is simple and fresh and wholesome . Well in chaozhou you probably wanna skip to eat the yummy snacks on the street. We had breakfast for 2 days. On the last day we skipped. We slept in till breakfast time was over. We had bought a rice dumpling and a rice snack the day before. We requested for them to heat up. They went beyond our expectations. Not only heat up, but gave us fresh fruits all serve properly on a tray like room service. Thank you
5) we booked a one bedroom suite on level 2. Ceilings are high. Room is airy. Soundproofing is good. Once the windows are closed. There’s minimal noise from street outside. By night 10pm it’s quiet . Morning noises only start around 9am plus from tourists foot traffic
6) Tip- as traffic are not allowed on that street. The nearest point is to get off at the Xia shui men (下水门) gate and enter the gate. From there you walk about 100-150m on flat well-tiled surfaces to the hotel
7) hope the hotel maintains their cleanliness & newness moving forward .
Will definitely stay there again when in chaozhou

SDM666Chaozhou Meixiangju, a traditional Beijing courtyard house – this four-courtyard complex, spanning an acre and boasting over 400 years of history, truly lives up to its reputation (I initially doubted a guesthouse with zero bad reviews). Stepping in, the courtyard was clean, tidy, and vibrant with greenery. Many items exuded a sense of historical gravitas. Inside the room, two diligent cleaning ladies were tidying up; they clean after every guest. The room's decor clearly showcased the owner's meticulous attention to detail. The host, Ms. Mei, was incredibly talkative and warm-hearted. She shared fascinating insights on history, tea ceremonies, and local culture – truly a remarkable person, haha! She even provides her unique 'Mei's Chaozhou Guide'. Originally, I planned only one day in Chaozhou, but happily extended it by another day because of this wonderful experience. I hope to visit Meixiangju again and explore Chaoshan once more...

Guest UserThis time, the hotel I chose looked exactly like it did online, and it lived up to its good reputation. I booked a king-size room; the 1.8-meter bed was plenty big, the bedding was clean, and the duvet cover was comfortable. There were two types of pillows, one soft and one firm. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, the toilet had an automatic sensor, and the water pressure was stable during showers. The air conditioning cooled effectively. Other in-room facilities were in good condition, and both the large TV and Wi-Fi router had strong signals. The room was equipped with a sofa and solid wood table and chairs. Complimentary bottled water was plentiful, and the eye masks, bath salts, and foot warmers on the table were all quite good and free of charge. If you needed anything, you could call the front desk, or a Segway robot could deliver it to your room. The front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the laundry service was also excellent.

Overall, it was quite good. The room was relatively new and very clean. The front desk staff were super enthusiastic and even prepared a list of recommended local eateries. The Aqin Beef they suggested was really good. The hotel has plenty of parking spaces, and there are charging stations available too. However, the elevators were a real pain to wait for; they're very small and often overloaded. At night, the KTVs nearby were a bit noisy, and I'm not sure if it was because of a holiday event, but the front desk helped by calling to complain and coordinating with the community to resolve it.

Traveling to Chaozhou with my family, I compared many hotels on the platform, considering brands like Orange Crystal, Hanting, and Home Inn Business. I then stumbled upon the local Meili series hotels in Chaozhou. Among hotels with similar conditions, its value for money was the best, so I booked it with an open mind. Upon arrival, I found it was indeed excellent.
The location is close to both Chaozhou Ancient City and Chaozhou West Lake; you can walk there or take a taxi for typically 7-8 yuan. Downstairs, there's a row of new, clean electric scooters you can rent from the hotel for 38 yuan for 3 hours or 58 yuan for a full day, which is very convenient. It's also near Chaozhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, offering peace of mind for those worried about potential gastroenteritis from trying local raw seafood dishes. The hotel is located on Yonghu Road, with plenty of restaurants downstairs, especially Lei Ji Guotiao, which is delicious and saves you the crowd at the main Lei Ji branch on Paifang Street.
Regarding facilities, there's an outdoor parking lot with ample spaces. Next door is another hotel in the Meili series, Meili Man Apartment, adding to the sense of security. Inside, there are washing machines with drying functions, two on each floor, so you can usually use one without a long wait. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the cleanliness is impeccable; there were no hairs or stains on the floor, toilet, or sink, and no water marks on the faucets. The entire room is smart-enabled, and there's even robot service.
For service, the front desk is available 24/7 with quick response times, and daily cleaning service is provided for consecutive stays. The lovely lady at the front desk (No. 2) and her male colleague on duty were particularly warm and attentive. They gave us a free room upgrade, provided thoughtful travel guides and food recommendations, and bid us a warm farewell at check-out, inviting us to stay again.

emilyFirst off, the location is absolutely fantastic – super convenient for getting anywhere, right across from Kaiyuan Temple. It's really in the heart of everything.
The breakfast is a simple affair, but I have to give a special shout-out to the lady making the noodles. My partner and I were sharing a bowl, so she specially added extra ingredients, worried we wouldn't have enough. The mini cakes were also delicious.
The hotel also offers free Chaozhou performances, which was a huge bonus! You can even enjoy some tea. We were originally planning to spend over a hundred yuan to see a show, so getting this for free was amazing. You do have to go to another venue, but it's not far at all, and you can even visit another attraction on the way. The performance included Chaozhou opera, lion dance, and Yingge dance. The young performers were incredible!

Guest User1. Location of hotel was excellent. Nearest to 廣济门 gate. Hotel easy to find - enter Guangjimen gate and immediately turn right. You will pass by 天后宫 temple and just walk straight for another 5 mins and you will see sign post of hotel on the left side.
2. Hotel door and lobby has ”back to the past” feel and blends in well with the overall environment of Chaozhou. You can see Guangji Bridge on the roof terrace of hotel, a good spot to watch the 8pm light show though may be blocked by some trees in front if you are not particular.
3. Great welcome from host, 南姜 who was really helpful and she provided us many tips on food at Chaozhou. Our room was upgraded to a bigger one in the main hotel building at no extra cost which came as a pleasant surprise to us They have annexe buildings opposite to cater for more guests
4. Room is big in size, high ceiling and has wiindows. Single beds are comfortable with 2 pillows. Bathroom has good water pressure, antislip stone floor at shower area with laundry line. Toiletries like toothbrush, shower and hair shampoo provided
5. All restaurants and shops along Paifang Street is easy to reach by walking and usually within minutes. Use 高德地图 to navigate as Google maps dun work well here
6. When you check out, hail your Didi to pick you at 竹水门 instead as there is a waiting point. Hotel is just 5 mins walk to this gate
Overall good experience in this hotel, highly recommended for it is really value for money

Guest UserI recently took my 80-year-old mother on a family trip, and we stayed at the Tengrui Crowne Plaza Hotel for two nights. Overall, our experience was excellent and we were very satisfied!
The hotel's location is superb. Our high-floor river view room offered expansive views, with a floor-to-ceiling window directly facing the Han River and Guangji Bridge. In the evening, we enjoyed breathtaking river scenery and a captivating light show. Even the Thai Buddhist Temple nestled in the distant mountains was visible, making for a truly delightful landscape. The room itself was clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding and excellent soundproofing, ensuring my mother had a peaceful and restful sleep.
The dining experience was fantastic. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, featuring authentic Chaoshan粿条汤 (kway teow soup) and local specialty snacks, all with a light flavor profile perfect for seniors. The weekend buffet dinner offered fresh seafood, authentic Chaozhou braised dishes, and special stir-fries, all enjoyed in a riverside setting that created a wonderful ambiance.
The hotel staff provided thoughtful and attentive service, and their demeanor was gentle. Getting around to the ancient city, Paifang Street, and West Lake was incredibly convenient, with a short taxi ride taking just a few minutes, saving us from any travel fatigue. The hardware facilities are well-equipped, including a gym and resting areas. The overall amenities are mature, making it very suitable for family wellness trips. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Chaozhou, and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling with elderly family members!

Facilities: Excellent and very new.
Cleanliness: Spotless! I even told the cleaning staff it was clean enough, but she clearly has incredibly high standards for herself.
Ambiance: Very pleasant, a quiet oasis tucked away in a bustling neighborhood.
Service: I was quite annoyed with the room key issue. We were staying for consecutive nights, and after a tiring evening exploring the night market, we returned to our room on the sixth floor only to find the key card wasn't working. I sent my child to the front desk to get it reactivated. She came back saying it was fixed, but it still didn't work. I then had to go down *with* my child myself to the front desk to ensure it was properly reactivated before making another trek back up. It was genuinely exhausting.
Suggestion: It's quite inconvenient to have to reactivate the room key at the front desk when extending a stay. Most hotels allow guests to simply continue using their existing key without this extra step. I hope this process can be improved, especially given how busy the elevators already are.

Guest UserI really loved the vibe here; it felt like truly living slowly in the ancient city of Chaozhou. The inn is super conveniently located near Paifang Street, just a short walk to the bustling food street. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was very attentive, making for a really reassuring stay. If any friends are planning a trip to Chaozhou, I'll definitely recommend this place so they can experience the charm of the ancient city!
