Firstly. Very friendly staff and extremely quiet for a nights sleep. Hotel is run down , no restaurant, rooms not cleaned daily. I believe I was the only guest. Says it all really. It looks as if this property is being renovated on a very small budget.

Nestled in the heart of the city, this luxurious establishment combines elegance with unparalleled hospitality, creating an unforgettable experience for every guest. The lobby welcomes you with high ceilings and stunning decor, featuring a mix of modern art and classic architecture. My room Spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with every amenity one could wish for. The level of service was exceptional; I felt like a VIP throughout my stay. The front desk was attentive and helpful, and the housekeeping staff went above and beyond to ensure my room was perfect every day.

Stayed two nights. Bed was uncomfortable, there were also hairs on the bed that were questionable. Squashed flies on the wall also. The corridor is dirty. Carpets are mucky and other guests chuck their dirty plates and glasses outside their rooms. You can literally hear other guests all night long. We couldn’t sleep due to the noise. We ate in the restaurant on Valentines night, a group of 13. There were two other couples in here. During the 1.5hrs it took to bring the food out, both couples had walked out and returned their food due to it being cold. After 1.5hrs, they brought out 11 meals, so two of us had to wait another 30min. When they finally brought all meals out, the food was fine. The young girl behind the bar was lovely; we felt sorry for her due to the amount of complaints she was getting, ranging from the food being rubbish to the fact it was freezing as the heating was also broke. Wouldn’t stay again.

Unfortunately, since the last time my friend and I visited, this hotel has gone downhill. We visited pre Covid, before the hotel was housing asylum seekers. We actually received a phone call before arrival to see if we were still staying. (Either a nice touch, or they wanted to book the room out if we were not). Reception staff were very kind and polite. Travelling upstairs to the room was slightly depressing, dirty carpers, loose wires above doors and corridor generally not very presentable. The room was extremely spacious with a newish TV fitted, which was of good quality. Unfortunately, the bathroom seems neglected. Hairs in bath, crack in sink. The most frustrating part was lack of plug in the bath, so I had to settle for a shower. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again.

I travel with my company on business around the uk. The staff I found very friendly & professional. The breakfasts were great (am on a high protein diet - catered for my needs). The room very large, bed very comfortable. Reasonably priced. The hotel was in a good area. It was excellent. The hotel was clean & modern.

My stay at the Glass Stain Hotel was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The place was filthy beyond belief, and it is shocking that it remains open. The bedsheets and pillows were riddled with stains in various colors, and to make matters worse, there were different types of hair all over the bed. It was disgusting and made me question whether the room had been cleaned at all. The windowsill was littered with dead flies, adding to the sense of neglect. The lighting was dim and gave the room a gloomy, unwelcoming atmosphere. The bathroom was even worse. The sink was caked with gunk and filth, making it practically unusable. The overall cleanliness of the bathroom was appalling—absolutely unacceptable. Noise was another major issue. Other guests were loud and disruptive, with shouting and banging continuing well past 1 a.m. It was impossible to get a good night's sleep. On top of that, the fire alarm went off twice in the early morning hours, waking us up in a state of panic. These false alarms added unnecessary stress to an already horrendous experience. This hotel is a complete and utter failure in every sense. It’s filthy, poorly managed, and unsafe. The health department should seriously investigate and consider shutting it down. Avoid this place at all costs.

I booked the accessible room. I was so surprised to see such a spacious room! Almost double the size of a standard room. It was brilliant because it was so easy to manoeuvre my wheelchair. I don't know why people have left a low rating because it deserves better. People forget this is a budget hotel and are far too critical. There were tea and coffee making facilities, better than what I've had in places more expensive. I chose to stay here because I was on a training course next day in central Sheffield and I couldn't afford the high price for a stay during half term weekend! The bed and especially the pillows were SOOOOOOOOO comfortable! I was lovely and warm. The shower...I've never seen such a GORGEOUS shower anywhere else. However, I emailed the staff saying that for a disabled person, there needs to be grab handles and somewhere to sit under the shower head as the seat was at the other side and the shower hose not long enough. They said they would look into it. They were knowledgeable about my Assistance Dog too. The TV was fine, easy to watch from the bed. There was no view out of the window but given its location, I wasn't expecting anything. I paid £55 a night. Also, it's close to a bus stop because I came by bus from Sheffield station, a pleasant 40 mins ride. I'm definitely going back and I have no hesitation recommending this hotel. It would be a good base to explore the Peak District by car too because accommodation there is rather pricey. Just one thing. The bed is a double bed. They said it was impossible to change it for a twin room. I would recommend changing the bed so that a twin can be put together as a double (I've seen this in other places) because disabled people often travel with a carer and there's no way they would share a bed!!!! I'd love to return with a friend but the current arrangement makes it impossible.

Dont like to knock a struggling hotel but some things are just basics. Unmanned reception, room door has been kicked in that often the lock was hanging off which I fixed myself. No hangers in wardrobe, bed never made up, bins not emptied, towels not changed, curtains broken, coffee not replaced, limited hot water, poor wifi, light bulbs not working. Its a shame as town is nice but this hotel is a no return option. Only upside is the breakfast was actually quite good.
