Courtyard Charleston Waterfront

Waking up to the sound of a hacksaw is not ideal. They are clearly in the midst of renovations and that would’ve been nice to know beforehand. Elevators need service, usually only one was working and it sounded terrible. Great shuttle service to downtown and great cafe/bar food and drink options.

Wonderful stay. Comfortable bed. Nice pool and sitting area. Great view. Bar/food options on premises.

Hotel overall was great. Checkin was smooth. Hotel and room were very clean. Staff was friendly. Sadly, the outdoor pool was closed during the day due to repairs. Very disappointed. It did open at 5:00. Complimentary coffee was good. Breakfast to order was also good. We would come back.

Lovely property. Shuttle service to MUSC and historic district is very convenient. All staff were pleasant and helpful.

I booked this hotel because of the pool and the lounge area. I imagined a nice vacation in the area. Upon checking in I learned that the pool was under maintenance. I never saw anyone working on the pool. Guests were haphazardly told after the third day to go to the hotel next door to use their pool. The hotel next door pool was smaller and had a different feel to it. I had my mother with me who has mobility challenges and we had to walk across and go through the lobby to use the pool. We did that one day. The other days I elected to just enjoy the lounge area. The rooms are big and comfortable and the balcony is nice. I think guests should have been compensated in some way for the pool being down, or given advance notice to switch hotels. I was disappointed in marriot and the approach.

The property was under construction while we stayed here. I felt taken advantage of because of this. Any other place we could have stayed didn’t have the noise or displacement we felt. I still paid full price for a property that wasn’t a complete product that I paid for. Construction ALL day, maybe a couple hours of no construction while we stayed. That should have been reflected in what was charged. We would have stayed somewhere else for the same price. I hope corporate reads this as I am a fan, I just think I was duped for quality of stay vs a property under construction.

Breakfast menu was fresh, room was clean with lovely view of the harbor, and enjoyed the patio outside with the fountain and rocking chairs.

Clean room. Even with road pretty close by, noise was minimum. Nice helpful staff. Updates were being done during our stay but were not disruptive. Outside areas could have been bit cleaner, planters were in process of being updated. Pool area and deck area were enjoyable. Wish there’d been more variety on breakfast menu- or try and offer continental breakfast. As it was a bistro- not a restaurant- evening food was ok. Enjoyed hamburger and club sandwich. Was disappointed in ‘partial view’ room. Tree right in front (roads seen easily). and side view was basically part of next balcony and a tiny bit of marina.
