I thought the room was very cool the way decorated. I did notice that my window looked right into the people dining so not sure if I like paying the price to have to keep my curtains closed. The outdoor pool was small but hey - no big deal. The bartender younger guy could use an attitude adjustment. I sat down and asked for a beer you did not carry and gave me a snarky look and literally through the menu at me and walked away -- NOT happy. Got up and left and went to restaurant side. The man who checked us in was SUPER nice - told him coming from MI and of course
"Go Blue" The Valets were also very nice. It is within walking distance to many things and I did enjoy the hotel!

The rooms were really cute and designed nicely. There was no fridge in the room which we really missed. The pool was small and often we couldn’t get a lounger there. Service in the restaurant and bar were really sub par. We left the restaurant one day after waiting 15 minutes without being acknowledged even though many people made eye contact. Our last night there was a wedding and a party going on in a room across the hall. They were in and out slamming doors and yelling in the hallway until late. The hotel tried to deal with it but weren’t successful. There is a big gap under the doors where a lot of noise comes in. We stuffed towels along the bottom of the door to try dampen some noise. I’d suggest trying to amend that. The front desk and valet staff were great and super friendly. Overall it was a good stay but a few improvements could be made.

The room was clean and comfortable. The location is great for walking around downtown Charleston. We appreciated the pool on a hot summer day, though it is rather small for the size of the hotel. We got lucky scooping up loungers both times we went to the pool. The drinks at the pool bar were delicious!

It was just okay
The locations is great for walking to king street, Riverfront park, and other popular locations. However, the hotel itself was pretty run down in appearance once you left the lobby. The hallways and rooms need painting, there were numbers on the wall or door room numbers that were missing or falling off, and the room itself was pretty dusty and there was mold/mildew in the shower.
Positives were that the hotel restaurant, coffee shop, and bar were nice and the workers at those places were very friendly. We wouldn’t stay here again, but it was only for 3 nights and the location made it somewhat worth the drawbacks.

I went for my Bach trip! So pretty, everyone was so nice. Service is 10/10. Very walkable - sits between the markets and King st. Less than 25 mins from the airport. My gals and I had a fantastic stay.

Fun and cozy hotel
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful especially Van!
The room was large, clean and the mattress was very comfortable
We loved the outdoor space and restaurant. Breakfast was very good and loved the atmosphere. My only suggestion is maybe another bartender during happy hour. Had to wait over 20 minutes to get a drink. The bartender was slammed and couldn't keep up.

The the hotel room was kind of annoying bash my legs on the bed constantly my mother ripped her toe off on the tub getting out of the shower and there was no refrigerator which I needed it for my medicine

I liked this hotel a lot but if you stay on the fourth floor you’re going to get lost guaranteed they built the higher floor on the opposite side of the building Other than that it was good

Wonderful!
Love The Ryder Hotel! Location is wonderful as well as the pool and coffee shop! Rooms are clean and modern and the staff is very helpful. Planning on staying there again soon!
