Residhome Chartres

I asked for a parking spot right after making reservation (about one week before the stay) and they chose not to respond, and when we arrived at the place the parking was full. The person at the reception just told us she was not the one who was supposed to respond and no apologies for the inconvenience at all. Other than bad service the stay was okay.

Excellent hotel, better than expected for the price, especially as there was a kitchenette in the room. Spacious room and decor of the whole hotel was very attractive. The breakfast was excellent, the best breakfast by far of all the hotels we stayed in on this holiday. We had to pay 9 Euros for parking, but it was secure garage parking under the hotel reception and we booked it in advance, and were glad to have a secure place for the car. However, arrival was tricky because there seemed to be nowhere to pull up short-term in order to be able to go into reception and check in. The hotel should give instructions as to where one can stop to do this, especially as the roads around are busy, and it is not easy to get back to the hotel once you have driven past. The hotel was on the city ring road, and very convenient for the city centre, being just ten minutes walk from the cathedral, so we had no need to use the car while staying there.

The accommodation was good overall, but the location made transport to the town quite difficult. It felt a bit isolated, with no shops nearby, and we had to walk about 20 minutes uphill to reach the town centre. This made getting around less convenient than expected.
