RIHGA Royal Resort Okinawa Chatan

This is a new hotel, so the facilities were clean and the room was spacious, which was great. The staff were friendly, and the location was excellent, right where the old Ferris wheel used to be in Ameria Village, making it very accessible. My only minor disappointment was the small size of the infinity pool.

Very new hotel. It's within walking distance to American Village, and the surrounding area is lively with a 7-Eleven just a 2-minute walk away. The family room was spacious and came with a basic kitchen and a washing machine. The rooftop pool was too small and charged a fee. The lounge offered great views of the sunset and fireworks.

I booked this new hotel even though there weren't many reviews since it just opened in April 2026. As expected, the facilities were excellent. The room was spacious enough for four adults. When we arrived, the sofa had already been converted into a bed, which was a nice touch. The separate bathtub and toilet were convenient, and the amenities were thoughtfully provided, from cleansing oil to shaving lotion. There's also a free large public bath on the 18th floor, so you can shower there if you prefer. The 2000 yen fee for the swimming pool felt a bit steep for its size, though. The staff were friendly, and when checking in, they provided an induction-compatible pot, microwave-safe dishes, and disposable cutlery and chopsticks upon request. It's just one block away from American Village, which was an easy walk, and the night view from the balcony was beautiful. You can even get a good view of the fireworks show starting at 8 PM.

I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights this time. The hotel was very convenient, clean, and comfortable. It's just a few minutes' walk to Mei Foo Estate, which has lots of great food options. Some restaurants are open until 9 or 10 PM.

The view was a mix of the parking lot and some buildings, but it was open and offered a good sense of space, though there were a few drawbacks. 1. The sound of the traffic light outside the accommodation was audible through the window. 2. We were told not to turn off the air conditioning because of condensation on the windows, which made the room too cold. If you turned it off, it would get really humid... haha. 3. Communication in English with the hotel staff was not smooth. 4. The parking garage attendant, unable to understand that I didn't speak Japanese, started shouting in Japanese and using exaggerated hand gestures to guide me. I was very taken aback by their overbearing attitude. The room was spacious, and facilities like the washing machine and large public bath were satisfactory, but overall, I felt there were many shortcomings. Even putting everything else aside, the room itself was constantly humid, so it didn't feel comfortable. It was decent value for money as I booked it at a discounted rate for their opening special. lol

The room was incredibly spacious and new, even equipped with a washer/dryer combo. On the rooftop, there's a sauna and an infinity pool. Its location is fantastic, very close to American Village. The room size is quite large for Japan.

This stay far exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. Both the hardware facilities and the soft services demonstrated a high standard. Moreover, the in-room amenities were complete, and the space was spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent. The room was clean with no strange odors, and the bathroom facilities were also very good. Overall, it was a good accommodation experience.

Free parking for self-drivers, close to American Village and AEON supermarket, with a 7-Eleven less than a 5-minute walk away. The room is super spacious, equipped with a microwave, a fridge with an ice maker, and a washer-dryer combo, making it perfect for families staying multiple days. The hotel also offers a free hot spring bathhouse. This will definitely be my top choice for my next visit!
