We initially booked 3 nights, but in the end stayed seven. We were travelling in our motorhome and selected a pitch on the upper level with private sanitary facilities. The views were beautiful. The pitch location was excellent. The private sanitary immaculate and an immense bonus. The campsite has a very nice clean swimming pool and ample for the amount of visitors. Adjoining the site is a Leisure Lake and park, with a safe swimming area for all ages and monitored during high season. The park has fitness equipment, childrens rides, table tennis and tennis court all beautifully laid out. There is plenty of room to relax. Plenty of walks in the area and a there is a nice path arouned the lake for a leisurely stroll, which we enjoyed each day. The site owners Alison and John make guests very welcome and nothing seemed to be much trouble. The own and run the restaurant adjoining the site and the food we sampled was lovely. It is a site for you to relax in and we did just that. The visitors were multi national and those we spoke with loved the laid back relaxing atmosphere

We stayed in this beautiful site on our way back from Spain to the U.K. The owners/staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food in the restaurant was delicious, the facilities are also spotless. The setting is absolutely beautiful, overlooking a lake. Wish we had found this place before, we will definitely be staying here again and may plan a week at this site. We have stayed in many places throughout France and this site in our opinion beats all the others.

Last here 20 years ago, location of pitches and views has not changed but the site is showing signs of neglect even with the new owners. The owners before, dutch, had installed some cabins / fixed tents etc, still there, some occupied by long term residents, meaning that not all 60 pitches are for tourers, due to the location of some, that takes out after four pitches, they would be a last resort pitch. Two pitches were used for debris storage, four pitches out of use due to height of the grass, two pitches taken by owner and staff accommodation. Bottom level facilities spotless, new facility block on the higher level, all new and spotless but no hot water or if there is there is a very very long wait time for it meaning showering is a no go up top. Signage advertising prices was from 2022 so no idea what the current rates are, ACSI rate was 21 euros. Welcome from an American was not as expected, very subdued. Wooden flower planters decaying / falling apart and full of weeds although the chairs and tables a nice touch. The collection of bed pans and the like in the facilities are not a feature to inspire a visit but hey ho. The restaurant on site had limited opening hours but food was good, fish and chips and it seemed repeat clientele. Pastries and bread can be ordered the night before. Supermarket in the village along with a bakers, the rest of the shops had closed down. Bar in the Tabac. Advertised walk from the site and of course you can always walk round the lake. which along with the manmade beach is the attraction. For us, it seemed the owner's focus was the restaurant and not on the site itself.

Choose a pitch with a lake view. Good tent pitch with shade. Toilet block is standard but all working perfectly. You can tell the owners care. The restaurant is good with a good choice of food. Can't fault the site. Was quiet at night as well. Nice lake to walk around. If using as a base consider driving to Périgueux about an hour 20 south and Brive 40 minutes south. Excellent mediaeval cities.

An ideal stopping point if travelling to southwest France. A picturesque campsite with all of the pitches having a lovely view of the pond. Yes it is inland but has a restaurant overlooking a substantial beach and pond beyond. Our pitch had a private bathroom and shower with a utility area outside. The private area was new, very clean, functional and very welcomed - A strong selling point. The restaurant has a warm cozy vibe selling great food. From the campsite there are walks in every direction - relaxing and stunning. We'd definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed our 4 nights at Camping De Montreal. Our pitch overlooking the lake was a good size for our caravan and had plenty of shade. The facilities were always clean. The owners were very helpfull offering advice and guidance when asked. We didn't use the pool but it looked well kept. Neither did we use the cafe/bar but again, that looked clean and tidy with a good range of food on offer. Would recommend this site, particulkarly if you can book a pitch on the lower terrace overlooking the lake.

We hadn’t booked to stay at this site, but after breaking down on the nearby A20 heading north for the Loire valley, arrived in a neon bright yellow and blue breakdown truck with caravan in tow! We found a lovely pitch under a shady tree, on the upper level of the site. Alison and husband John were really welcoming, and offered to make phone calls, or interpret for us, or help in any way they could. We had lost our fresh food in the fridge during breakdown and despite being packed full Alison kindly found us a table in the restaurant on site. The site was just what we needed, peace, quiet and tranquility after an horrendous and frightening ordeal. We had no idea how long we would need to stay, but Alison was accommodating and flexible. We stayed 12 nights in the end…… very peaceful site with wonderful countryside views of fields and cows in the distance and lake in foreground. Situated next to a lake with man made beach, and nice lakeside walk around. Popular with locals for swimming, with lifeguards and inflatable play slide and diving platform. Nice little pool for cooling off, and clean showers and sanitary blocks. Also a laundry room which was very welcome! Staff were lovely…..Edith a lovely Dutch lady accompanied hubby to garage to interpret , and collect our car. We couldn’t have met a kinder, nicer bunch of people. We arrived as strangers and they really helped us in our hour of need, and treated us as friends. Food and drink in restaurant and bar great, with wonderful lakeside views. Will be more than happy to stay here again and so pleased that we found such a fantastic site in our hour of need. Will definitely have this site on our schedule for next year. Thank you again Alison John and Edith ….it is worth noting that Alison only took over the site in the Spring and we would like to wish her every success in her new venture.

Lake views of the Etang de St Germain. Beautiful. Restaurant Restolac on site with good menu, lakeside terrace, ideal for late tired arrival. EHU, good facilities - needed after wild camp. Nice historic town, just a little way from site. Fortified church and donjon tower, great medieval architecture. Some shops and bars.

We’ve been travelling for 3 months in our caravan & Camping Montreal is the one we found hardest to leave. Loved the spacious, private (high hedges either side) pitch overlooking lake and gently sloping fields beyond. Fantastic to be able to walk a few steps and be in campsite restaurant (dog welcome); limited menu but everything we ate was delicious and terrace overlooking lake was a lovely bonus . Easy (uphill ) walk to charming village with small supermarket, boulangerie and tabac/bar. There’s something very relaxed, welcoming and easy about this site and our congratulations go to Alison (works non stop & so helpful) and her lovely team for making this a special site that we will return to x
