The Originals City, Hôtel A Pic, Cherbourg

Needs updating but restaurant, food and staff absolutely excellent.

Good location, quiet. Excellent staff, good offering in the restaurant and excellent service. Rooms need a makeover to bring up to today's standards

Stayed here for 3 nights in May 2023 in room 003. This is a pretty typical older design Campanile Hotel with updated rooms which were pretty much what I was expecting but a little larger as I was in a disabled room which seemed a little bigger than the standard room size but I could be wrong. The rooms are pretty basic with a big comfortable bed, desk and chair, an open closet with some shelves and hanging space and a wall mounted TV. The bathroom being in a disabled room had a big open shower with a curtain and looked like it had also been recently renovated. They had a kettle on a tray but unfortunately it takes up some valuable space on the desk and because of the way it is wired to the socket can’t be moved off the desk. While I intended to use this as a base to explore the area a problem with my car meant I really couldn’t leave the hotel on the Sunday I stayed there as my car was at the local Peugeot dealership. Having said that there was plenty of free parking but the location really makes a car a necessity when staying here. The hotel staff were so helpful when I was “stuck” at the hotel all day on the Sunday and most of the day on Monday until my car was fixed. While the restaurant was open on Sunday’s but they let me use the microwave to heat a meal I bought at the local supermarket which was much appreciated. While my stay didn’t go as planned the staff made my stay the best it could be.
