The view was great, and the service was excellent. It was quite clean, and the transportation was convenient. I had such a comfortable rest that I even missed breakfast. I'll definitely stay here again next time. The staff even waited in the parking lot.

This hotel has excellent service. We arrived in a hurry, and the owner and staff helped us book many tours and activities. The hotel itself is also beautiful. The wontons at breakfast were super delicious, and they even had tea eggs. I highly recommend everyone to stay here!

This was my first trip to Chiang Mai, and out of many hotels, I chose the Sanook Riverside Resort. I must say, it was an excellent choice. First off, the hotel's location is superb. It's incredibly convenient for booking rides and ordering food delivery. The hotel is right in the heart of Chiang Mai, very close to the Old City, Nimmanhaemin Road, JJ Market, and many other attractions. In the evenings, you can even enjoy a pleasant stroll along the river. Secondly, cleanliness is paramount for me, and this hotel truly delivered – you could comfortably walk barefoot on the floors. The rooms have a vintage decor, are incredibly spacious, and each comes with a private balcony. Sitting on the balcony with a beer in the evening was wonderfully relaxing, something many other hotels in the same category can't offer. Furthermore, the hotel's garden area is quite large but meticulously maintained, with very few insects. You can spot butterflies, dragonflies, and even little squirrels hopping around, which speaks volumes about the owner's dedication. Finally, and definitely worth mentioning, the hotel service was outstanding. The staff were warm, attentive, and always smiling, making you feel welcome and safe. Chiang Mai is a city worth visiting again, and next time, I hope to stay at Sanook for a few more days.

The hotel's location is excellent. There's a 7-Eleven just a three-minute walk away, and right opposite is Teresa Teng's favorite old-school curry noodle shop. Their fried chicken wings are only 50 Thai Baht for two and absolutely delicious – I'd come back just for those! There are plenty of dining options nearby, as this is a prime riverside location with many unique restaurants and popular cafes. The hotel offers convenient access to everything while still being tucked away in a quiet spot. It's rare to find a hotel with such a large public garden space, which shows the owner genuinely cares about their guests and has a passion for hospitality. The rooms themselves are elegantly vintage and unique, and very spacious. Compared to the five-star international chain hotels I've stayed in, the rooms at Sannok feel completely unconfining. Coming back to the room truly feels relaxing. It's also worth noting that despite the lush greenery, there are very few insects, and everything is exceptionally clean. All in all, it's incredible value for money, and it really captures the essence of a Thai holiday. I will definitely be back again.

This is the first time in so many years I've had to hastily move out of a hotel at 11 PM – it was truly unbelievable. Before this, I stayed at a hotel in the old city that was perfect in every way. When booking this hotel, I considered that for the last two days, I'd either be out all day or catching an early flight. Based on its high ratings and Ctrip's 5-star designation, I booked this seemingly high-value hotel. As soon as the car arrived, I had a bad feeling. The location was very remote, and there were no convenience stores nearby. The hotel facilities were hard to describe. The air conditioner was an old wall-mounted unit that had turned yellow. The bathroom walls were bare concrete, giving it a very 'Syrian' vibe. I thought I could just tough it out for a night, but the furniture in the room, perhaps because it was so old, creaked all night long. I barely slept the first night. Since we had an early morning elephant viewing planned for the next day, we packed everything before leaving and talked to the front desk about checking out early. The front desk said they needed to ask the manager. So, we had to leave first. We kept communicating in between, but the gist was they wouldn't refund but could offer a room change. We had no choice but to agree. After returning in the afternoon, we moved our luggage to a room on the second floor and went out. We came back at around 10 PM, ready to sleep, only to discover the bed was covered in tiny bugs, even though our doors and windows were closed. We quickly packed our bags, not wanting to waste another moment, and rushed back to a hotel in the old city in the middle of the night. Luckily, they still had a room available. The entire experience significantly dampened our travel mood. I really don't know where those good reviews came from. The only four stars go to the service – the front desk staff's attitude was genuinely good.

My initial reason for choosing this riverside boutique hotel was for the spacious twin room, hoping my dad could get some good rest. But unexpectedly, we found ourselves immersed in a truly heartwarming experience. Unlike the international chain hotels I've stayed in before, this place felt more like a guesthouse in Taiwan, full of genuine hospitality, or even more so, like a grand home in Chiang Mai – a truly warm and inviting place. I heard the owner share his story: after working hard in mainland China for twenty or thirty years, he came here and bought this hotel as a side business. This building isn't just a business; it's a reflection of his outlook on life, a passion for living. During our 11-day trip in Chiang Mai, we weren't in a rush. Instead, we simply kept changing areas to experience different ways of living. Because I discovered that people are most at ease when they are close to nature and to their family. Returning to simplicity, returning to one's inner self. Returning to being just a daughter. The luckiest thing about our trip to Chiang Mai was discovering the Sannom Hotel. The environment and room facilities here are impeccable. It doesn't have the distant feel of a five-star hotel, but rather a perfect balance of comfort and relaxation. From the moment we checked in, we felt the true ease and relaxation of a holiday. All the front desk staff speak Chinese, which was such a rare and reassuring feeling to be able to speak our mother tongue in a foreign country. But even more moving than the facilities were the genuinely warm people at the hotel. Mr. Zhang, the owner, is incredibly enthusiastic and a man with many stories. From local food recommendations to travel tips, he provided invaluable, practical advice that saved us a lot of hassle and made our trip smooth sailing. What truly left an impression on us was when my partner unexpectedly got injured during our trip. In that moment of panic, Mr. Zhang and the hotel staff provided continuous support, helping us liaise with the hospital, patiently translating and communicating, and meticulously handling all the details. In a foreign country, we felt an immense sense of kindness and security that transcended any distance. Thank you, Mr. Zhang and the Sannom Hotel, for providing us with the most stable refuge and warmest care in Chiang Mai. We are grateful to have met such reliable and warm-hearted people.

The environment is great and the location is super convenient. It only takes about ten minutes to get to any shopping area. The hotel staff are all very enthusiastic and helped us solve many problems. We had a really good experience! Highly recommended.

The hotel room was quite spacious, with concrete floors. The front desk staff provided good service. However, overall, it didn't offer good value for money in Chiang Mai. It felt more like a guesthouse. If you exit the hotel's back door and walk about 50 meters, you'll reach a temple where you can go boating. Honestly, the only major drawback was the high price.

A beautiful garden resort with excellent service staff. The breakfast was also great. The only downside is that the band's music at night might disturb sleep. It's about a 5-minute walk to the nearest 7-Eleven, which takes you along the beautiful Mae Ping River.

The location is a bit off the beaten path, so taxis aren't really an option. We chose to walk to Tha Phae Gate. While the location is secluded, it's very quiet. The service is great, and the hygiene is impeccable. The staff are incredibly friendly, and I especially loved the breakfast.

Second time at this hotel, very quiet and peaceful. I really like it and will always stay there whenever I visit Chiang Mai. It's just a shame they don't have a bar service.
