This is a reasonable hostel. The room and bathroom are clean. They provide towels. Location is nice. Staff are friendly.

I am happy to stay here. This hostel is cozy and has all the essentials you need. The common areas are warm and inviting, and there are activities to make the guest know the Chicago better. I chose this place because it's close to the starting point of the Chicago Marathon. The hotel also provides fruit and electrolytes to runners. The weakness I found was cleanliness. The room I stayed in had a lot of dust under the bed but there were no problems in the using area. & Some staff may seem a little upset when I asked her repeatedly or may not understand what she is saying.

This was one of the best hostel experiences I've ever had. Even as a solo female traveler I felt quite safe in the hostel premises. They had plenty of events, I joined a couple of walking tours in which i learned a lot and made new friends. The shared areas are super big and very convenient. The location is excellent. If I ever need to go back to Chicago I'll stay here for sure.

One bad thing was blanket. I was cold.

The location of HI Chicago Hostel is great—easy access to public transport and major sights. The room and facilities were just okay, nothing special, but clean enough. Overall, it’s a decent option for solo travelers looking for a central and affordable place to stay.

The hostel no longer provides breakfast, but complimentary coffee and sliced bread are available. It's conveniently located within walking distance of the train station. Clean towels are provided. However, there are no privacy curtains for the beds; some guests even resorted to using their only blanket as a makeshift curtain. The common area and restrooms are on the second floor. Note that access to these areas requires a key card, meaning early arrivals or those who have checked out won't be able to enter.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful throughout my visit. I especially loved the breakfast — it had a great variety of fresh and delicious options. The location is also perfect, close to many shops and tourist attractions. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and relaxing stay. I look forward to visiting again!
