Gateway Chikmagalur

A beautiful property nestled in the hillsides. We broke journey here on our way from Kabini to Hampi. Huge rooms, great service. Had a real old world colonial charm to it. Perhaps the only negative observation would be the steps to climb around the property. Would definitely return here in the future.

Our 2 day family get away was really well spent at this property. Initially, I was slightly hesitant whilst booking this property given some of the reviews weren't very encouraging. However,I must confess that the warmth of the staff is the real highlight dlof this place, besides the well kept rooms. The property provides a good balance betwen relaxing in the midst of nature and enjoying a bunch of activities that the property can offer. The other highlights of the trip were the morning with Rahul, the magic show, farm animal feeding with Ram ( the lovely gardener...even the other gardener was welcoming ), good dining time with Ram, Deekshant, Keerti and their team, amazing house keeping service by Lokesh and team. Apologies for some of the others that I can't recall. I am sure that the newly appointed Hotel Head ( Shadab Khan ) will turn this place around making it the an even more sought after property in Chikmangalur. Thank you again everyone.

we are both professionals and our work demanded high accuracy. this had taken toll on us and we needed a good break from our routine. so packed our bags and the four of us (2 children with us), headed to chikmagalur. the best place to manage our stay was none other than the professionals at tajness. booked into a cottage for 5 days. its a nice cozy 5 acre property tucked into greenery. the moment we entered the property we were welcomed to being at home. the whole team at taj chikmagalur were "PURE HOSPITALITY". its the first time i had met the GM of a taj property mr saneeej was very nice person. our hostess who welcomed us made sure we got the right room which was large and had 2 queen beds. the team at the restaurant headed by chef Keerthi doled out some real good dishes the daniya murgh and the malnad mutton biryani has to be tried out- mouth watering and to present them were Mr das and Mr sharma. the swimming pool was good and was cleaned twice a day. a temperature controlled pool like your property in coorg would have been a big bonus. the greenery around the property is lush, it had a lotus tank housing some beautiful lavender coloured lotus. the TT table was a major stress buster for us improved on the bygone TT skills too. last but not the least the most resourceful person Mr Manoj Lazarus, an endearing personality, he knows how to cater to the guests of all ages. took my kids to show them the cute ducks and rabbits on the campus which got them very interested. they have many activities like the nature walk etc etc but that was not on our holiday agenda, which was chill chill and chill..... thanks taj chikmagalur for a memorable holiday.and please don't forget to taste their coffee both filter and black. on our way back all four of us were all smiles.

The location is towards the outer parts of Chikmaglur, but once you enter the gates it is a seperate ecosystem in itself. We stayed there over the weekend and the property which has 29 rooms was fully booked. Loved the rooms nestled in nature with privacy. The food options are also good with malnad cuisine . There was live music and karaoke during the weekend so would definitely recommend for a peaceful couple or family getaway

The stay was comfortable, and the food was good. However, the restaurant is understaffed, and there is a long wait for food to be ordered. The restaurant employees are unskilled and have serious communication issues. Being a member, I had booked a member package where there was a 25% discount on F&B and SPA therapies. However, the hotel did not provide the said discount on the SPA / Wellness therapies as promised. To top it up, beverages that were part of the package were also charged separately. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. The hotel is not value for money and is overpriced for the stay and services being provided.

Staff were very polite and friendly. Service was good. Very less varieties of food in the buffet. Maintenance to be improved. (Billiards table was damaged, cue sticks were broken. Carrom board was rough. Room price was very high. Overall an average place.
