CHONGQING SOMMET HOTEL

The room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with high-quality linens. It was surprisingly quiet despite being in a bustling area, ensuring a good night's sleep. I interacted with two different butlers during my stay, both of whom were friendly and attentive. They upgraded me to the room with the best view and even arranged festive decorations, which was a lovely touch. The hotpot restaurant they recommended was delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel's location is fantastic, perfect for young people wanting to city walk, with many popular attractions within walking distance. Chongqing is truly a hidden gem, and I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

Located on the main road on the 29th floor, the hotel offers convenient transportation to Shibati, Hongyadong, and Liziba. The service was also excellent. Traveling alone, I was a bit scared of the long corridor, so the front desk attendant helped me upgrade to a room on the other side. They even turned on the heating in advance and provided circular fruit. The bedding was comfortable, and I slept soundly last night. This room was also closer to the front desk, which was more convenient. The long corridor side would actually be more suitable for autumn, as the view from the top floor is beautiful, and it's pleasant to be outside when it's not too hot or too cold. I do have a small suggestion regarding the bathroom in my room: the hot water takes about a minute to heat up. It would be great if the room could provide shower slippers, as it feels strange to shower in cotton slippers. Standing barefoot for a minute in winter while waiting for the hot water is indeed too cold. Perhaps guests could also be reminded to let the water run for a bit before showering. Also, the shower head is installed too high. Most women are probably around 1.5 to 1.6 meters tall. I had to slightly tiptoe to reach the shower head, and the holder for the handle is fixed, so the shower head can't be tilted down. If you turn up the water, it just sprays far away. So, showering wasn't very convenient. Aside from that, everything else was great! The welcome fruit, service, transportation, and cleanliness were all thumbs up. Oh, and the hotpot place recommended by the attendant (the one with four rooms) was delicious! The air conditioning was also very powerful, heating and cooling quickly. Facilities: The scenic bathtub and toothbrushes were great. Hygiene: Clean. The front desk staff went the extra mile to help me change the bedsheets late at night. In the morning, the cleaning lady patiently unclogged the drain. Environment: The view from the top floor is beautiful. Service: Good. Welcome amenities (unlimited coffee & welcome fruit & local snacks): There was fruit and snacks, and they even gave me an aromatherapy gift when I left.

To be fair, the low rating is for the bathroom's drainage and water supply. In the first room, the water pressure was very low and the drainage was poor, which was quite annoying. The front desk later moved us to a better room. I'd advise future guests, especially those with babies, to check with the front desk beforehand if these issues have been resolved. Also, the service quality could be improved. After breakfast, we hadn't decided where to go and had already checked out, so we ended up sitting in the public area for a long time. I think the front desk could have offered us some tea or water to enhance the service. Despite this, I still gave 5 stars for service because the staff member was generally friendly throughout.

It was very quiet at night, perfect for sleeping. The guy at the front desk was super helpful and recommended some amazing food spots – everything he suggested was delicious! We even got complimentary welcome fruits on our first day. The location is fantastic, making it easy to get around, and there are so many great places to eat right nearby. Highly recommend!
