Came to Chongqing with my sister for Wang Leehom's concert and chose to stay at the Mangeng Mansion. Everything here was fantastic! Both the hotel's exterior environment and internal facilities are impeccable, full of Republic of China charm! Our room balcony overlooked the Yangtze River Cableway – the view was absolutely stunning 😊. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony in the morning, which was a perfect start to the day! Oh, a special thanks to the hotel for the small cake they prepared for my sister 🧁. And definitely try the hotel's travel photoshoot service; the photographer, Yao Yao, has amazing candid shot skills! 😃

This hotel deserves a perfect score, and I absolutely have to write a detailed review. First, let's talk about the location. It's nestled within Kaiyuan Park on Nanbin Road, right next to the Yangtze River Cableway South Station and Longmenhao Old Street, making it convenient to get anywhere. At night, the view of the Yuzhong Peninsula across the river from the room is unparalleled – much more comfortable than being squeezed in with crowds at Hongyadong. Next, the room. We booked a river-view room. While not particularly spacious, the layout was very well-designed. The amenities were thoughtfully chosen: Diptyque toiletries, a Dyson hairdryer, and a Mousse mattress. The mini-bar drinks and snacks were all complimentary, which was a huge plus. The bathroom had excellent wet and dry separation, and the brass bathtub was incredibly comfortable for a soak, with stable water pressure. I particularly want to praise the service. A day before check-in, a butler added me on WeChat to ask about my arrival time and any dietary restrictions. Upon arrival, staff helped with luggage and brought it to the room, also providing detailed information on local sightseeing routes. In the evening, a complimentary sweet soup was delivered to the room, which tasted great. Breakfast could be scheduled for delivery to the room, and the Chinese set meal was quite generous, with porridge, noodles, and fruit. As for hygiene, there was nothing to fault. The bedding was clean and soft, and there were no water stains in the bathroom corners. For a hotel converted from an old building, achieving this level of cleanliness is truly impressive. Soundproofing was also better than expected, and we had a very quiet night's sleep. Overall, this is a hotel that combines historical charm with modern quality. If you want to experience the taste of old Chongqing without compromising on accommodation standards, the Mangeng Mansion is an excellent choice. I will definitely stay here again with my family when we next visit Chongqing.

The butler was actively coordinating my pick-up and drop-off even before I landed. Every day, I could pre-order breakfast for the next day, and it would be delivered right to my door. They even offered to receive food deliveries at the front desk and bring them up! They truly took care of every single detail meticulously! After staying in so many hotels, this one definitely has the most thoughtful service!!

The location is also very convenient, not far from the Yangtze River Cableway and Longmenhao Old Street. The environment is nice, and the room's decor and layout are also good. However, the parking lot is a bit far from the rooms. I'd suggest offering a shuttle service. Also, you have to climb a few stairs to get to breakfast, which is a bit of a trek.

The room details are impeccable – Dyson hairdryer, complimentary mini-bar, and a marble bathroom where soaking in the tub was incredibly relaxing. The English butler service was so thoughtful; they brought desserts before bed and delivered breakfast to my room. They even included a complimentary 1-hour travel photoshoot. The photographer was excellent, providing careful guidance throughout, and the windows of the former British Embassy on the top floor made for stunning, effortless shots.
