Hongyuan Hotel (Chongqing Shapingba Three Gorges Plaza) Reviews

I chose this hotel after careful consideration. I checked every picture and review. It looked super clean and new and the owners supposedly spoke English. I told everyone back home that they don't have to worry as I have found the perfect place to stay before I can move into a new place. Then I arrived. The owners were very kind throughout my stay, not like we understood most of what the other said. I tried using the translation function of Alipay. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. The dialect here is not that close to standard Chinese, it seems. At first they didn't even know which is my room, as I was led to one that was occupied. Then I was shown my room, which was obviously the one that I booked. However, the application was not updated. The weather here makes it really humid and when it rains, it RAINS. The day I checked out I woke up to water dripping from the ceiling into my bed. I'm not blaming the owners for the water, it's just that it was damp and the wall was already soaked before I arrived. The pictures talk for themselves. I'm a bit of a clean freak so I would have preferred a cleaner room too. Hopefully it's only because I arrived before check in time. Also not sure how healthy it is to stay in a room like this. About the location, if you are not yet used to the climate and your flight has you worn out (like me), it might not be the best option. I personally didn't find any bigger supermarkets in a 100 radius, nor any fruit or vegetable vendors. If you travel, look around and only come back here to sleep, it is OK, but otherwise I'm not sure. It did have AC and WiFi, which is a great thing.

My initial impression wasn't great: the sink was full of hair, there was curled body hair on the floor, and the shower head was broken. However, the front desk staff were so polite that I didn't want to leave a negative review, thinking I could just make do. Then, in the middle of the night, incredibly loud noise started coming from upstairs. This hotel clearly has zero soundproofing! From midnight onwards, I was woken up four times throughout the night. I finally fell asleep at 5 AM, only to be woken up again at 9 AM. I tried to call the front desk, but the call kept failing to connect. After I finally reached customer service, they seemed to resolve the issue, but the noise started again within an hour! I even spoke to the hotel owner, who dismissed my concerns by saying that 'noise is subjective' and that *she* can sleep with the TV on. Seriously? I'm completely bewildered. Shouldn't a business in the service industry prioritize the customer's experience? The hotel claimed they couldn't find the source of the noise. If that's true, then I'm very curious why it always goes quiet for a while immediately after I call them?

The environment was excellent, and the place was exceptionally clean. The front desk service was very thoughtful. The room had no unpleasant odors, and overall, it was incredibly tidy. The surrounding area was also very quiet, which allowed me to sleep very soundly.

The cleanliness was genuinely awful. The moment I walked in, it felt like the room hadn't been cleaned. While everything else was acceptable, cleanliness is fundamentally the most basic expectation, and I had initially booked based on the good reviews.

The setting was lovely, and the owner was incredibly kind and friendly. Ordering takeout was super convenient. It got a bit chilly, but she thoughtfully provided an extra blanket. The location is excellent, right opposite Sanxia Square and a shopping mall. Plus, it was very clean.

Clean, convenient, and offers the best value for money compared to other hotels at this price point.

Checked out early, but received no refund. I kept asking for it, but they never processed it.

My friend and I arrived quite early, and our reserved room wasn't ready yet. Since we were really tired, the owner kindly arranged another room for us. The service was decent. However, two days into our stay, I started developing an itch. If I scratched, large red welts and small bumps would appear. My friend experienced similar symptoms, though not as severely as I did. The itching continued even after we returned home, and a doctor diagnosed it as an allergic reaction. I sincerely hope the owner pays more attention to cleanliness; it's not just about simply changing the sheets and duvet covers. On the positive side, the location is great. Its proximity to the subway made it very convenient and relaxing to return with my friend every day after exploring. Plus, there's a noodle restaurant right outside the hotel entrance, and the food there is delicious.

I booked the room for 2 days. But is eas to bad to stay also the second day. So i jusy stayed 1 night and asked refund for second day

While it's a bit dated, it's surprisingly well-maintained, offers great value, and is in an excellent location.

My stay this time was absolutely wonderful! The room was spotless and bright, fully equipped with smart amenities. The front desk staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and quick to respond. Breakfast offered a rich variety of dishes, with a great balance of both Chinese and Western options. The location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around. It offers great value for money, and I will definitely choose to stay here again!

Couldn't be happier! My first night elsewhere was a nightmare: incredibly noisy, a smelly bathroom, and frankly, too dirty to endure. I just had to switch hotels. Moving to Liyuan the next day was the best decision. The stay was unbelievably comfortable; I finally got a proper night's sleep.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep.

Clean, the owners were very friendly and welcoming, but the soundproofing was just average.
