Yitel (Chongqing Jiefangbei Hongyadong)

The room has a smell coming from the restaurant below. But many traditional foods are just below the hotel for breakfast. Convenient location, very near Hongyadong and Jiefangbei. Staff are very helpful.

The best: Good location, steps from Hongya Cave and close to Jiefangbei. Not so close to any metro station, but Didi is cheap in China anyway. The not so good: Included breakfast with few options (very few is you're expecting western style bf). The ugly: The stink in the lobby (3rd floor). Fortunately it does not smell bad at 8th floor where I was.

The hotel is old and outdated for the price paid. The aircon kept increasing in temp up to 27C although set at 20C...when informed, reception said it was centralised and nothing can be done... Just switch off the aircon and open the window! - so why put aircon control in room in the first place? No sign in English for foreign tourist to find this hotel therefore confusing to find as there are 3 hotels in the same building! The windows are NOT cleaned, so although I had the bridge view due to the dirty windows, it was NOT worth the price.

Love staying here, I stay up for a week. Staff is friendly and always helpful. Provided with many facilities at an affordable price. There are 2 showers and strong jets like like bathing in a waterfall , also soft beds, very strategic location. I will recommend to my family and friends.

Great location, easy to access and the staff are friendly. But they don’t understand English. Washing machine and dryer worked well.

Old and dirty, room was quite small, but not the worst in the world. Location is great, so if you’re planning to be out all day every day then I would recommend, but if you’re looking to relax in the room at all avoid. Plumbing was pretty bad as well, cold water barely worked, most of the time the choice was between scalding hot and very warm; water also struggled to come out of the shower and tap at times. No comment on service, nothing negative there just plumbing and cleanliness (in terms of the walls and ceiling and floors in the room and the bathroom, cleanliness of the bed and such was ok) were the biggest issues
