Anonymous UserI stayed here the night before my flight. It's the closest hotel to the airport, less than a minute's walk away. They have a great selection of free drinks and snacks. Plus, the self check-in and check-out are super convenient. Highly recommend! 👍

This is a fantastic hotel. Due to flight issues, I checked in late at night, but the lobby was incredibly warm and comfortable, with a beautiful and pleasant atmosphere. The environment is truly outstanding. It faces a large park, offering lovely views, and the transportation is convenient as it's right in the city center and very close to the airport. The lobby fireplace was cozy, and the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, treating guests like family. The room was very clean and tidy, hygienic, and comfortable. It was spacious, and the bedding was excellent – clean and very comfortable to use. The bathroom was great, and the room overall was very spacious, neat, bright, and grand. Everything felt relatively new. I would definitely stay here again next time. It offers great value for money.

hamu_familytripThis hotel is about an 8-minute walk from the Intercity bus terminal. Its convenient location puts major tourist attractions, supermarkets, and restaurants all within walking distance.
What I appreciated most was how kid-friendly it is. It started with them gifting my children bird plushies (worth about $15) at the souvenir shop, and there's also a kids' play area. This was a lifesaver when the kids got tired of sightseeing and perfect for burning off energy before bedtime.
Regarding amenities, they lean heavily towards sustainability, so if you want to be extra comfortable, it's probably best to bring your own. They provide a hairdryer, iron, towels, shampoo, and coffee/tea, but no water, toothbrushes, bathrobes, or slippers (which might be standard for hotels in New Zealand). Tissues are provided but not replenished when used up.
The central heating didn't seem to work very well, which was a shame, but we managed with the extra blankets they provided.

The wifi is limited to 500MB per person, the speed is very slow, and the connection is often disconnected. There is a charity shop and a Chinese noodle restaurant next to it, which is convenient for cooking. There is a gas station next to it. It is not far from the Dahuang Supermarket.

Guest UserWe arrived late at night on our first day, and after collecting our luggage, I called, and they responded very quickly. Within a minute or two of us finding Gate 2, the car arrived. Since it was so late, the driver even handled the check-in process for us, which was incredibly convenient. The next day, we had arranged to pick up our rental car and asked if they could drop us directly at the car rental company (I had originally booked a service where the rental company would pick us up from the airport). They readily agreed!
We booked a one-bedroom suite, and while it looked a bit basic, it was very spacious and clean, so that was perfectly fine.
_The hotel's restaurant was also good; we had one breakfast and one dinner there.
Highly recommend for transit travelers.

Had a great stay at Lylo Christchurch. The location is very convenient, especially as it’s close to the airport and transport options. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a short stay. Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall, a very convenient and comfortable place to stay in Christchurch. Would definitely consider staying here again!

It looks close to the airport, but even taking the number 8 bus still requires about a 30-minute walk, especially since there are so many cars on the main roads, it's quite inconvenient and gives you goosebumps.
Advantages: It's close to the car rental company, but once you get there, you'll realize how terrible the route is. It's very unsafe, requiring you to cross many roads without traffic lights. New Zealand drivers are noticeably less courteous than Australian drivers, so be extremely careful.
As for the environment and hygiene, I won't go into details. In the overnight hotel, you have to run outside to use the restroom. But considering the price, you'll have to put up with it.

Guest UserThe location is excellent, within easy walking distance to the Avon River, the Arts Centre, the museum, and the Cardboard Cathedral. We booked a two-bedroom apartment, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and tidy. What I liked most was the fully equipped kitchen; we bought groceries from the supermarket and cooked our own meals, which was both affordable and delicious. I'd definitely book this place again on my next trip to Christchurch.

My friends and I had a great stay at The Bealey Quarter! The motel is situated in Christchurch City, allowing easy access to the tourist sites, whether you're travelling on foot, by car, or by public transport. There are plenty of buses and metro buses that frequently stop right near the accommodation as well!
The staff were very friendly. We had a late flight (that got delayed even later) and ended up having to check in after hours. They were very accommodating with this, and similarly, when we asked for new towels, we received them immediately. Similarly, they were kind enough to allow us to put our luggage in their reception office whilst we went to collect our rental car on the day that we checked out. My only issue is that I had to contact them a few times before I received the late check-in details.
The facilities were lovely. and very clean! The bathroom was private with a shower with good pressure and hot water. The bench and the toilet were a little high, which we were surprised by, but this wasn't a major issue at all! My only recommendation would be to add a ventilation fan to the bathroom, as although there is an open window above the sink, ventilation was still not ideal. The room came with a heater, a really good fan, and very comfy blankets and duvets. We were also provided with glasses and mugs, a selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, a hair dryer, a bin, a little cupboard, desk, chair, and even a bench where our suitcases fit really well. The view of the courtyard was beautiful despite the somewhat miserable weather, and access to the courtyard via the back door meant we could use the hammocks in the nice grassy area :) The back door was a bit tough to open, and we had to actually get the staff to show us how to use it. My only other qualm is that there is no potable water in the rooms themselves. Instead, our keycard allows us to the Lodge (I believe the hostel area), where there's a kitchen and we can fill up.
Overall, we had a great experience here and I definitely recommend the Bealey Quarter to anyone coming to Christchurch. It was so affordable too :))
I didn't get many good photos but here you go!
