My partner and I booked a suite for the weekend of our wedding. I stayed the night before the wedding with my moh then he and I stayed the night after. The suite was huge and very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Open plan kitchen living room with floor to ceiling windows over looking Christchurch River, main bedroom with en-suite and floor to ceiling windows over looking the river, second single bedroom and a bathroom. The only meal we had here was breakfast. The buffet was a little limited however the cooked options were excellent. It was a lovely surprise arriving in the car park to find a post reading us a parking space for the weekend which eased any worries of finding anywhere to park. All staff we met were so friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. It really was perfect for such a special weekend! We plan to return for our anniversary next year

What a wonderful experience we had!! We would just like to thank everyone, that made our special day, absolutely fantastic, with special thanks to, Kelly and Sam for taking care of us at very short notice. We were let down by Hotel Du Vin in Poole, as they informed us just 3 weeks before we were due to have our wedding reception there that they were starting renovations on the week of our wedding 10th March, we were getting married on 14th! As you can imagine we were distraught!!! We contacted the captains club and they had a room free that could accommodate up to 40 guests , we met with Kelly who was fantastic, nothing was a problem, we only had less than 2 weeks at this point to arrange our wedding reception. I can honestly say everything was perfect , the tables looked amazing, the food was delicious, the service was impeccable, Sam looked after us throughout the day/evening, again nothing was to much trouble . Thank you so much for saving the day and making it the best day we could have had. Maria & Adam

My partner and I needed a break away after all our Christmas visitors! There seemed no point in driving far at this time of year, so we booked The Captain’s Club, just half an hour from home. We booked a 3-night Staycation for £660 which included breakfast, £40 each per day towards food and use of the Spa. We had a lovely big room with river view, bath and shower. Everything was immaculately clean. The breakfasts were beautifully freshly cooked and I enjoyed their delicious Cheese Soufflés and fish for dinners. All the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We’ll be back!

We stayed for a couple of nights with my parents, the location is lovely with beautiful views and short walk into town. The room was large and we found the bed very comfortable. The staff were polite, friendly and provided a very good service to reception staff, restaurant and bar staff to the cleaners. All in all a very pleasant stay and we will return again at some point.

I popped into the captains club for a drink and the Barman was very professional. We then decided to get some bar snacks but some were not available. I tried to make a deal but the bartender couldn’t accommodate, so the manager arrived and he was very unprofessional and sarcastic with his responses leaving me in a distressed manner! I left the premises in a distressed state with my partner who agrees that we were treated poorly.

Clare is a superbly proactive, polite, friendly and attentive as a waitress. She definitely earned a service charge! The GF Fish and Chips (+ peas, tartare sauce) expertly boned; so filling, crisp, hot and tasty. Atmosphere and conversation level very convivial, considering the customarily foul Good Friday weather!!

Hubby and I went to Captains Club today and had coffee which came with beautiful cookies. The staff were lovely and attentive and it was very comfortable to sit and watch the view. As our daughter is engaged we decided to eat there and see if it would be a possible wedding venue. We ordered a cheese souffle which was light but the cheese sauce was lumpy and it was very salty. We also ordered a beefburger with truffle cheese. The beefburger was a processed lump and tough; at £18.50 I don't think we were wrong to think it would be made at the hotel. The truffle cheese was just a processed orange cheese square. Such a disappointment after the lovely coffee and biscuits. Needless to say go for the coffee but not for a meal.

The Captain Club Hotel turned out be be the perfect choice to celebrate a special occasion being my wifes birthday and our anniversary the following day. Booked 5 months before in order to get a nice room and a good deal. We ended up in a Junior Suite on the 1st floor at the far end in a corner position with a turret offering spectacular views both up and down the river. We requested a nice table to enjoy dinner on both evenings and we got what we had asked for. The cost was £400 each night which at first seemed expensive but with £40 pp credit towards dinner each evening plus an additional £20 credit for making our booking direct with the hotel was good value. Everything was excellent with good food, friendly staff, comfortable suite we could not fault it. We even had a dedicated parking place reserved for us which was a nice touch and to end it all we were lucky with the weather.
