We recently returned from a 7 night stay at Liberty Signa as a family of four. Check-In Experience: Unfortunately, things got off to a rocky start. Check-in was disorganised and impersonal, with a long wait and minimal explanation of the hotel’s facilities or layout. After a tiring journey, we were left standing around without much guidance or a welcome drink, which set the tone for what followed. Room: This wasn’t even ready for us and we had to wait for house keeping to make up the bed for our children. We had booked a Deluxe room with Pool Access via stairs. The room was too small. Building on the bed situation for our children, this was not great. Fortunately our children our young. Despite multiple requests, our room went uncleaned one day, despite phoning to ask. We also ran out of toilet rolls and again, had to phone multiple times for more. We also wanted to keep our room later on the day of our departure as we had a late flight. We couldn’t as the hotel allegedly had no availability. This isn’t a deal breaker however, the spa showers and changing rooms are poor and, we heard from others, who had to pay a lot to keep theirs. Food: The main buffet was average and became repetitive very quickly. We had to eat here more than we wanted as couldn’t get into the other restaurants as they were “full”. Another frustration of ours. You also had to keep going back to guest services to check availability. Service in the restaurant was hit-or-miss. Staff were friendly but clearly too busy and at peak times it became difficult to find somewhere to sit as well as having to queue for a while to get anything being cooked or something being replaced. We were able to eat at the Turkish, fish and Italian restaurants. The fish mains were terrible. The other two were enjoyable. Turkish was my favourite. We also had lunch at the timeless. This is essentially a bit of everything and is ok. Kids Club: This seemed to get better as the week went on. However, compared to some of the other brands, it’s way off the mark. Staff their like to use their mobiles while working.. although that was a theme across other parts of the hotel. Evening entertainment: The main shows were rubbish. There isn’t much signposting as to what’s going on anywhere. Noting there’s an app but even that is subpar. One evening we stumbled upon a band playing down by the beach area. This was great. But how many people really knew about it? Guest Relations & Service: Whilst we were looked after during our stay by some really nice people, these were few and far between. As a hotel pitching itself as five star, this element fell well short of mark. Part of the issue in my opinion is that the hotel is just so big that it simply cannot provide a personal level of service without making some fundamental changes. Management never appeared to be visible anywhere at any point which is telling in itself. Some staff struggle with the basics such as ordering drinks, including coc
