Everything is very good, the facilities are large and have a great location, the only thing missing is some remodeling in the rooms, they are already very old, as are the bedspreads.

PROS: We only stayed for the night and booked this stay VERY last minute, but the location in Playa Miramar can't be beat. Check-in was a breeze, the check in area is beautiful and updated, and the check-in staff was very friendly, even though we only speak Spanglish. Yes, you get actual metal keys, handed the TV remote, and towel cards at check-in, but I knew this from reading the reviews so we were prepared. We were directed to park our personal car at an open parking spot by the attendant who was also very friendly. We had a room on the 2nd floor (3rd floor really, since the check-in floor was considered floor 0). The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the room was clean. The shower was clean and had hot water. We thought breakfast was delicious and varied. We paid about $30 US for breakfast since we didn't purchase the all-inclusive package. We thought this was an OK price since it was all you can eat and the service was friendly and exceptional. We wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the beach but it was a rainy day when we woke up in the morning. CONS: Rooms really need a modern technological update. We have to move the beds to the opposite side of the room in order to plug our CPAP machines in because the wall where the beds were situated didn't have outlets. Luckily the beds were movable. This is really our only complaint.

It cannot be that at 4 pm the rooms are not made up, look for one on a trip to rest and have the best disposition and attention, it saddens me that when you report to reception they tell you the schedule is from x to y hours to do it. We understand that it is an old hotel but the service must be first class... A lot to work on, Brand friends...

A classic hotel with an excellent location, but one that was left behind at the time of its inauguration more than 40 years ago. The rooms require a total remodel. The furniture is very old. There are not enough contacts, the ceiling fan did not work, the air conditioning is very outdated, the work table looked like it belonged to a carpenter because of how damaged it was, there is no safe, much less amenities such as coffee, glasses, minibar, iron, etc. etc The first day they didn't even put water. The breakfast buffet was not very varied and not very good, in fact I did not return to the restaurant in the 3 days I was there. Although the staff was friendly, one feels a kind of harassment or excessive control, which among others is the number of pieces of paper with notices or warnings about charges, rates, check out time and the simple fact that they give you control of the TV at the reception so you can return it when you check out, it denotes the level of hotel it is. What amazed me is that there are still staff offering memberships!! Oh, and the billing process is quite poor, you have to talk to remind them to send it. MAEVA had a good name, however in my opinion it is time to renovate or sell this property.

I can't believe that being in a suite I don't have Internet. They stayed in the last millennium. Room without coffee service or refiri bar. Only one restaurant and very limited food. Out of 10 the service of the staff. But nothing modern. Drink not very varied. Beautiful place, I just think it needs updating. I need the Internet.

The beach of Tampico is very beautiful and very well maintained compared to Cancun during these seasons. The hotel is ok, very neglected and it shows that over the years it has not been given the maintenance it needs. I didn't like the food, they served you the same thing and there was no variety. Cold food and you get tired of eating the same thing for lunch and dinner. The best was the breakfast, but nothing out of this world (Chilaquiles, egg, pancakes, cereal and fruit). The staff is friendly, but the service at the beach club was terrible. The food ran out very quickly and you had to stand in a long line, so that in the end you wouldn't get anything. I personally didn't like the food at the beach club (hamburger, hot dog, fries), but it was the best thing about the hotel. The pools are good, but they need maintenance. The beach is supposed to be private and closed and you saw people who went to the public beach go to the hotel beach and also vendors. The rooms really need maintenance and remodeling. I think they should save their money and go to some other beach, or rent an Airbnb and go to the public beach (which is actually very well maintained and the palapas are excellent.) Save your money, honestly this hotel left me with Much to be desired and for the price more.
