Belle Green Bed and Breakfast

We spent a very pleasant 6 days here. Steve and Ann are great hosts and made us feel right at home. The room was great, very clean. The breakfasts had a great menu and were first rate. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

What an absolute gem of a place. The location is just in the most breathtaking spot, within a stones throw of Beatrix Potter’s Lake District home. There’s a pub just down the road which serves delicious food and quality ales too. The bed was so very comfy, and the host had thought of everything! Super big bath for two. The breakfast was fit for a King (or Queen) We will return later in the year.. the whole experience was just perfect. Cannot recommend this place enough…it really is perfect.

A wonderful 3 night stay with family, a great choice of breakfast and a superb hosts. Beds were very comfy, warm rooms, great tea trays also hairdryers and lots of wardrobe/storage. Dogs very welcome. Open log fire and central heating. Although this is a B & B the Tower Arms pub is 3/4 minutes away and they serve a great menu for an evening meal. A very central base for walking or sight seeing. Thank you for a memorable stay.

This is the loveliest place to stay in The Lake District. Beautiful rooms, amazing breakfast, lovely hosts Anne & Steve have thought of everything you need, wine glasses, corkscrew, torch, hand sanitizer, lovely toiletries and homemade shortbread biscuits. We have stayed several times, and hands down wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting this part of the country. Always a roaring log fire in the guest lounge. Walkable to Hill Top (Beatrix Potter's house) and to the local pub The Tower Bank Arms, and The Sawrey House hotel which both do evening meals. 5 minutes drive to lovely Hawkshead where more places to eat and nice gift shops are available. Hosts are also eager to recommend walks and other good places to eat. Brilliant base from which to explore the beautiful South Lakes.

Lovely stay great location and fantastic hosts and brilliant breakfast selection.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Anne and Steve at Belle Green. A beautiful whitewashed old farmhouse which has been tastefully decorated inside. Our room was comfortable and clean, though the mattress was a little hard for us, and the bathroom was quite large and immaculately clean. Loved the complimentary toiletries and was glad to see they were refillable. The homemade shortbread buiscuits were yummy and it was lovely to have fresh milk for our cups of tea. We were made to feel very welcome, including our dog who stayed for free. Had a wonderful, fresh cooked breakfast every morning which set us up perfectly for a nice long walk in the stunning, surrounding countryside. Would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again. We recommend that you make dinner reservations at the local pub prior to arriving as they are very popular but small. Hawkshead is also good for evening eateries with a few places taking walk ins.

Superb bed and breakfast. Everything is spotless. Our room overlooked the garden and had a lovely little window seat. There was plenty of storage space and coat hangers. The bathroom had a powerful shower over the bath. It had also had good quality toiletries. We were kindly supplied with a torch on an evening as there are no street lights. There is a guest sitting room with television and open fire that is great for chilling out in after a long walk on the fells. Plenty of choice at breakfast. All the food is well cooked and well presented. Ann and Steven are the perfect hosts. I can't recommend this B and B highly enough.

Just so lovely to be back staying at Bellegreen again Ann and Steve are wonderful hosts and cannot do enough to make your stay a comfortable and enjoyable one. The room was lovely and comfortable with a great view of the garden and a super bathroom with a big bath to relax in at the end of the day .. what you need after a day in the Fells. The breakfasts are delicious, a super menu of local produce available and Steve ready to top up the tea, coffee or toast if you need it. Bellegreen is in a really good place for walking, fishing .. water sports on Lake Windermere and places of historic interest. … and not forgetting great food in the local pubs and Michelin starred restaurants in Ambleside, Windermere and Cartmel. I can’t think of a more enjoyable place to visit Thank you Ann and Steve!

Ann and Steve are fantastic hosts. We stayed for a weekend with two dogs in August. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was immaculately clean and had everything you could possibly want. Breakfast wow so much choice and everything we tried was delicious. The garden is gorgeous cannot recommend this place enough. The homemade plum jam is lovely thanks Ann my mum likes it too.
