We enjoy our stay at Clarens Retreat. Beautiful and stunning place. Clean and personal was friendly. Food was excelant. Room was clean every day. It is a quite and peacefull erea and that we appreciate because that was the purpose of our vacation

Enjoyed our overnight stay at the Clarens Retreat. Rooms are clean and nicely appointed. The restaurant on site is superb. Parking is plenty secure enough for Clarens. Reception service is professional and quick! All staff were friendly. Book here!

We love staying at Retreat in Clarens on our frequent travels between Durban, Cape Town and the far Northern Cape. Gerrit is a welcoming and friendly host and prides himself on ensuring that the accommodation is always well presented, with a high level of attention to detail. Retreat is perfectly situated only 100m from the Clarens Square and the quaint shops and eateries. Their onsite restaurant has a great menu and is extremely popular, serving excellent fare. The accommodation is secure with off road parking and has everything you would need for and overnight stay or longer.

Our host Gerrit was very welcoming and even went further to change our rooms to bring kids closer to us. Very nice restauarant on complex. Also very close to other restaurants and shops. Overall a great experience. Will definitely visit again soon

What an amazing place to stay! Owner is so friendly. The place is nice and clean. Restaurant right next to the accommodation. I would definitely be back here again!

The hosts Gerrit and Francois were very charming and run a tight ship with many years of experience between them in the hospitality industry. Francois' food is the best in Clarens - truly delicious. I highly recommend the place and particularly the food

We stayed at Clarens Retreat for a work-away-from-home and chose it because of its location (central but quiet), reliable and sufficient WiFi, and backup options during loadshedding. The Mountain View unit was lovely. The bedroom has been beautifully done, the lounge and dining areas were comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped for making meals (stove, oven, microwave, midi-fridge, etc.). The bathroom is slightly outdated but functional; I usually dislike bath-shower combos, but this one was pretty good - a hot shower with good water pressure and sufficient space, despite being in a bath :) And the views of Mount Horeb from the bedroom and the surrounding garden are splendid. We enjoyed our stay and would happily stay at Clarens Retreat again.

An excellent place to stay, prefect location with awesome hosts, the restaurant and quality of the food is absolutely amazing, thank you to chef Francios, Re-treat is definitely a recommendation for a relaxing trip after a busy day at work, I'll definitely return, Many thanks.
