The grounds and amenities are nice but the room was disappointing. It was extremely damp, the walls were sweating. There was urine on the bathroom wall. The sink on the left side had the filthiest brown water coming from faucet. The sheets were scratchy. The beds were very narrow (definitely not queen sized) and awkwardly tall. The fridge was difficult to open and close because the door would catch on lip of the plastic drip tray it was sitting on. The couch was so filthy it belongs in a dumpster, and the furniture is super outdated. The location is beautiful but I would not stay in this hotel again because it is in desperate need of extensive renovation.

A wonderful place to stay in Clemson. They have such a friendly staff and have the benefit of a cafe and restaurant at the Madren Center.

Beautiful property with golf course, lake and large outdoor pool views. Nice first floor patios to make bringing dogs convenient. Second stay and would continue to stay here.

Unfortunately, we were given the wrong information about the pool hours when we checked in which led to a disappointing first day and there were some noisy guests our second night but otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is well appointed and convenient.

Super hotel !!!!!
Our experience with the hotel was excellent. The atmosphere in the entire facility was welcoming, staff was friendly and the waiter for our Sunday brunch very efficient. We managed to leave clothing in one of the drawers in our room only to discover the problem when we arrived home. A phone call to the receptionist at front desk solved the problem and the items are currently enroute to our home in Wisconsin. Thank you for everything.

Had a wonderful stay at the James F. Martin Inn! Nestled on the shores of Lake Hartwell, this hotel offers both serenity and convenience. The location is perfect—peaceful, yet close to Clemson University and downtown attractions.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and the most beautiful views of the lake. The staff is friendly and pleasant.
Whether you’re visiting for a Clemson game, a conference, or just a getaway, the James F. Martin Inn is a fantastic choice. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return!
