had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Holiday Inn recently, and I must say it was far from a pleasant one. The check-in process, which is supposed to be a simple and straightforward affair, turned into a frustrating ordeal that left me deeply disappointed.
I arrived at the hotel promptly at 4 pm, only to be told that my room was not ready yet. Keep in mind that the official check-in time was 3 pm, and I was there an hour later. It's understandable that rooms may not always be ready right at 3 pm, but a one-hour delay is quite excessive. What made matters worse was the complete lack of apology or even acknowledgment of the inconvenience from the hotel staff. It's as if they expected me to be perfectly content with waiting around for my room without any explanation or courtesy.
After waiting for a grueling 1.5 hours, I finally received my room key, and the experience didn't get any better from there. I decided to inquire about any compensation for the considerable delay, hoping for perhaps a small gesture of goodwill to make up for the inconvenience. To my dismay, the response I received was nothing short of disappointing. I was told that if I had an IHG credit card, I could earn some points as compensation, but if I didn't, I was essentially told to "just eat it."
This response left me feeling completely undervalued as a guest and utterly dissatisfied with the level of customer service provided by the Holiday Inn.
