Motel 6 Coeur d'Alene, ID

Asked for IDs of everyone in the group which I thought was weird. Then I thought maybe a good thing to have at a cheap hotel. Cops were actively patrolling the parking lot every hour all night and the premises was well lit. Felt very safe at this spot. Rooms were recently updated, clean, and felt like a good deal for the money.

The bedspread was dirty, long black hair stuck to the blanket in several places. Booked first four days on line, when I asked for this booking for an additional day, desk person couldn’t help me. I had to go back on line to get a room. Heater made an aweful scraping metal noise when it kicked on. I think cleaning came once in 4 days as we had new towels, garbages not emptied.

Our "non-smoking" room smelled strongly of smoke, I heard terribly screaming outside of our room around 1:30 am, and the surrounding area was super shady. If you're looking for a budget stay and you're not a chain smoker, DO NOT choose this one!

Overall pleasant experience. Front desk girl was really sweet and helpful. Rooms are small but the price is right. Beds were comfy. Located close enough to everything. Close to downtown without the high price tag.

They really need to get the sign by the road fixed. At night when you come in you can’t hardly see where to turn into the property

Wish it had a microwave and fridge but that is why it is the price it is. Otherwise it was an easy in easy out place to stay.

Cleanliness and freindlness of staff. I have no complaints at all.

The room had a horrid smell, kept the door open to air it out. Urine on the toilet seat. Towels were dingy gray, and had the horrid smell of the room. I think it’s the ac/heater unit producing the smell. It was a mix of cigarette smoke, sweat, and musty odor. I can’t complain too much, you get what you pay for. But pee from the last guest still on the toilet seat - that’s disgusting.

Needed more than 2 pillows but we didn't ask either. Very clean. Just perfect for our very short over night stay.
