Hotel is very historically number one hotel in Sri Lanka. I love the beach and garden view. Food is excellent choice. Staff everyone is very courteous and well organise and presentable. All staff are consistently helpful. I love ambient of the hotel.

Extremely poor service. Manager Malik and staff Asun were inconsistent in feedback and discussion. hung up the call 3 times while asking for explanation and insisted on USD 100 for upgrade to fix the issue. Presented the worst room with LED lights shining into the room. Avoided the calls to explain or discuss. Choosing to ignore calls were next level immaturity displayed by staff. In a country where service is key this hotel was truly disappointing. One of the worst I've had across the world.

Historic hotel right on the water. Great location and lots of options for food. Gym and sauna. Small simple rooms. Service was very patchy though not in keeping with its 5 star aspirations.

We had a pleasant stay in Galle Face Hotel. The room is beautiful and comfortable. Sufficient A/C and the room is clean. The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly during the check in process.
The breakfast buffet is brilliant - wide range of selections and tasty. Overall it's a good value of money.

My stay at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo was truly memorable. From the moment I walked in, I felt surrounded by history and elegance. The colonial charm, ocean views, and timeless architecture created a unique atmosphere that few hotels can match. My room was comfortable, beautifully furnished, and opened to the sea breeze—perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive, and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean was unforgettable. Watching the sunset by the pool with a drink in hand was the perfect end to each day. A classic, graceful stay.

As a heritage hotel, it was cleaner and more modern inside than expected. The location was great, right next to the beach and also one Galle face mall.

We absolutely loved our stay here, we had a free upgrade to one of the newer rooms on check in the service is fantastic in all areas of the hotel. The breakfast buffet is excellent with so many options, dinner in Mambos is a must to enjoy good food, the live music and dancing. And our personal favourite was the Traveler’s bar, the staff are extremely attentive and the views and atmosphere are spectacular.
