Off the beaten track location in the hills, so great if you want to be more secluded - just note that there isn’t much nearby if you need anything! Gorgeous balcony overlooking the river-really feel like you’re in nature.

Judith is the very best hostess who will go out of her way to make sure you have a wonderful, welcoming experience not only at her guesthouse but the whole area. She's so knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. She scheduled a night boat ride on the Decalachao River which runs through her property to see the fireflies, stars (literally out of this world), and luminescent plankton. I was heading to another spot the next day and she went out of her way to contact the hotel to arrange my boat pick up at the Decalachao pier and arranged transport there for me and my luggage (and on the return trip too). The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the views of the river and surrounding area were beautiful, and the food was generous and delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and hope to return someday soon!

The Riverhouse is a gem of a place to stay. It's nestled above the mangrove of the Decalachao River and the views are very atmospheric. The food is extremely well prepared and tasty, and the owner has given some thought to presentation, providing cloth napkins and nice layouts. There are a few things to do in the area, for example you can hire a scooter and go up the coast, or rent a kayak from the Riverhouse.

Absolutely fantastic!! Judith and her husband are the most amazing and genuine hosts! The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The Riverhouse is a bit out of the way from town so we had all our meals in-house and we couldn’t be happier with the vast menu, and delicious, home made quality of everything we ordered. The views from the breakfast terrace were stunning especially at sunrise. Kayaking on the river was a serene experience, but our private boat out to a secluded island with a private beach was definitely the highlight of our stay! They even packed us a picnic lunch to enjoy on the beach! Judith even helped us book massages right in our room. Overall such a relaxing, serene visit for our family! We will definitely return!

The riverhouse is truly one of the best places I have stayed in in the world. The views are amazing, the owners and staff are so hospitable, the food is fantastic and the location was just so peaceful and quiet. Absolutely amazing getaway. Just want to thank everyone there for the best stay one could have asked for.

Our stay at the Riverhouse was amazing! The owners really did everything they could to make sure our stay was the best that it could be. When they found out it was our honeymoon, they even arranged a surprise for us to make sure our stay was extra special. If you stay here, make sure to take some time to speak with the owners!
The staff really do go above and beyond to ensure day trips are smooth and seamless. You just book and everything is taken care of. Breakfast is basic but delicious and the food is some of the best we have had the in the Philippines!
Other positives:
- comfortable bed with multiple types of pillows
- seamless transfers from town or the airport
- baggage service
- The area is so quiet! No roosters or motorcycle noise to be found here (a challenge sometimes in the Philippines)!
Overall, the details (like mirrored glass on the windows for privacy) are taken care of and it really shows. We would definitely stay again!

A gem of a paradise place. Tucked away over the river, the views are amazing. Very comfortable rooms, excellent home made food and the owners are lovely and can help with organising everything. Definitely recommended!

I stayed at this hotel for a few days with my fiancée and the staff and greeting staff were super nice. They welcome guests attentively and go out of their way to accommodate your requests. In addition, if you want to find someone to discuss some political topics or the world situation, "Mr. H" will be happy to chat with you. The food at the hotel was delicious, the rooms were clean and super comfortable.
