R2 Rio Calma

Great Hotel with amazing architecture and good food, but something that make my family sure that we had made a good choice was time that we spend with an amazing animator Marco! Really well-organized and full of passion person, who’s give all his best to make you feel good. Great ideas for exercises and leadership is his strong sides, because of him, for sure we will come back to Hotel Rio Calma. I wish to meet people like Marco in every hotel I go to…

Just returned from a week at this hotel. It is a clean and well designed hotel. The staff were amazing and always helpful and polite. The restaurant was well managed and the food was of a good standard. The waiters were very attentive as were the chefs and the service was excellent. My room was cleaned daily and the bed was comfortable. Maybe investing in some new pillows is my only criticism. I didnt have any problems getting a sunbed by the pool. The hotel is not close to the local shops and it certainly takes longer to walk to them than it states on the information. However I would definitely stay at this hotel again .

Nice Hotel, and cool phototeam greetings on andrej and adella nice people! Have there a good sleep. The all inclusive package were good, and the diners were varied. Everey day were something different fish and flesh and vegetables. The pool area in front is beautiful.

Absolutely stunning hotel which had the look and feel of a small Spanish town - town square included - but all with the complex. Dining was an absolute joy - so much I had to complain about the food one evening: it was just too delicious and I was being forced into eating far too much! And what a pleasure to eat in the fantastic and magical outdoor dining areas; such a change from having no option but to eat in a glorified school canteen in other hotel. Constructive criticism: First, please allow guests a more luxurious toiletries range. Offering one "body/hair shampoo" in a pump dispense doesn't exactly lend itself to a luxurious bathroom experience. Also, it's impossible not to use conditioner with longer hair. Secondly, ideally the hotel would offer a shuttle service to the main beach, even if just a few times a day. That would make this hotel absolutely perfect.

Beautiful Hotel with an impressive view and a friendly atmosphere. Relaxing holiday for the whole family as our kids feld well in the kids club with Asya and Manuel. In the evenings they enjoyed their daily 'dance workout' on the stage where afterwards nice shows were given.

we stayed at the rio calma for 7 nights with our little family. the hotel has beautiful designs and gardens. best overall compare to other resorts in costa calma. the venue use to have a lagoon and a ninigolf however both have fallen into decay which is a minus. the rooms are very quiet, clean and spacious. pools are heated and generous size. lovely to sit on a the grass with the shades from the palm trees. the surroundings the hotel is located remotely from costa calma. you ll need to walk 15 mins up and down to find your first shop. (there is a tiny one inside the hotel for essential supplies) you are next to a beautiful beach where you can practice extreme sports. there is also a nice promenade walk to enjoy the cliffs. if you are looking for an easy access to a sandy beach you lll have to look for another hotel. in terms of security, no one is controlling the venue entrances. anyone outside can enter the hotel without being checked. another issue to fix Catering this was the real disappointment, the food is varied but not of great quality. barely any local specialties. the staff at the restaurant are clearly overworked and not helpful. they ignore you if you don’t speak spanish. this is something the management should look into the pool/lifeguard personnel were very rude and useless. they assign reserved seats for disabled people to anyone who pays. when questionnes they ignore you and ask to speak to reception. that is also for management to look into and fix. overall service & prestations the gardeners, cleaning, entertainment personel are very friendly, smiley and helpful. please note you ll need to pay extras for any requests, kettles, pool towel replacements.

We have just finished a 10 day stay at the R2 and it is without doubt an exceptional hotel. Ignore the negative comments uness you are incredibly 'pickie', the grounds are almost manicured and immaculate and ok its a 20 minute walk to the beach but for us that was not a problem and the beach is lovely. The hotel is virtually cashless as you are given a bracelet which charges everything to your room so to avoid 'cheque shock ' it may be worth viewing your bill mid way through. That said do NOT be put off you won't be disappointed.

We spent a week in Rio Calma and we were won over by the hotel. A magnificent setting, very calm, welcoming and very friendly people. There are plenty of things to do, we weren't bored for a single moment. A huge thank you to the host Marco without whom our week would not have gone as well. The entertainment was great with him and we laughed a lot. Thank you for this vacation !

Don’t normally leave review but here goes hotel and surrounds lush rooms lush with maid service daily . food ok not 4 star by any stretch of the imagination and no choice for kids thankfully we were child free the food was never hot luke warm at best . hotel remote and once in Calma which is a 20 min walk there is nothing there either .very poor resort
