Arrived to check in and nobody around. Rang doorbell twice, no answer so went to sit in car. Host arrived tenminutes later in obvious rush. Quickly took us into vestibule which has bags of laundry around. Rushed us through keypad codes etc, no pleasantries such as "how was your journey" or "would you like a cup of tea". Shown to room and she left quickly (obviously to see to something else). Ensuite smelt of urine as was not cleaned properly. Thick of dust on headboards. Room grubby overall. This was unacceptable to us and a joint decision to leave and not stay. We located the owner to inform her of our decision and she insisted we show her. She agreed about dust on headboards but toilet, by saying they were "busy" On hindsight we regret paying £125 for that night we should have left without paying anything, it ruined our holiday!!

Throstlenest Farm is set in a beautiful location with stunning views and very helpful hosts. The cottage was well equipped and we were surrounded by cows and sheep with a great view from the decking. My only advisory would be that if you are a couple looking for a romantic, private getaway then this isn't the place for you - when you are on the decking or in the hot tub you are overlooked by the 2 lodges. Whilst we were in the hot tub we were disturbed (& embarrassed) several times by other guests walking through the field and opening the gate to help get their cars in the small car park. There is also a boxing punch bag hung up immediately outside the front door of the cottage which was too tempting for other guests coming home late.

House keeping in dire need or overall. When arriving at your destination the first thing you usually do is make a drink. Well that was not easy when there were no tea bags in the room and the cups were disgusting (see pics). There was no one about to ask for tea bags but we found some in the breakfast room. The TV was so small that you needed glasses to fine it let alone watch it. Its such a shame because the b&b is in a lovely quiet spot with beautiful views especially in the breakfast room. Breakfast was fine and freshly cooked. It seemed that attention to detail has been overlooked and we will not be returning!

Booked via Airbnb Stunning location, but the lodge was not up to standard, especially for the price. We arrived to find dirty dishes in the dishwasher, a cloudy hot tub full of insects, and bird mess all over the decking and outdoor furniture. Inside, it felt neglected — dead flies in the light fittings, a loose and unstable oven, and a general need for a deep clean. We appreciated that the high chair and cot were brought promptly when we asked, but overall the lodge was poorly maintained. We raised these issues directly with the host, but our request for a partial refund was refused, which added to our disappointment.

My partner and I booked a two night stay in Lodge 1 at the Throstle Nest & Farm, Skipton, Yorkshire to celebrate my 51st birthday between 12th and 14th March 2025. We booked this through Airbnb because of the stunning views and that it had a hot tub between the side of the lodge and the adjacent wood. The good points - The Lodge is ideally located for visiting Skipton, Haworth and the surrounding towns/villages. The views across the valley from the lodge are absolutely stunning with trains running along the bottom of the valley every 20 minutes or so. Such a peaceful and relaxing outlook. The layout of the lodge consists of an entrance area with seat and coat hangers, open plan kitchen, dining and living area with large screen TV, electric stove style fire and electric radiators. Two bwdrooms, the main with en-suite and a main bathroom. The hot tub is private and you are not overlooked by anyone. The bad points - Cleanliness of the lodge was the main issue we had during our stay. We had to rewash some of the glasses, plates and cutlery as they had a coating of grease over them. The kitchen benches were sticky and also hadn't been cleaned properly. Under the bath mats in both bathroom floors were dirty when my partner moved them and she had to reclean both bathroom floors. All the window glass were marked and all the windows could've done with a clean. After a long day, we were looking forward to a soak in the hot tub. However, upon getting in, it was obvious that this had not been cleaned after the previous guests. The water in the hot tub was dirty and murky, with a coating of dead skin scum floating on the top of the water. I used a blue fishing type net I found next to the hot tub to clean the water and get rid of alot of this scum. Not perfect, but better than doing nothing and not being able to use the hot tub for the rest of our stay. The settee in living room area needs either fixing or replacing as part of the seating has collapsed and some of the settee cushions need washing as they were dirty and marked. Each morning we were woken up by a large black bird banging its beak off the window of the second bedroom (see photo). Car parking for lodge 1 and 2 is just off the lane leading to the B&B farmhouse. It is supposed to be suitable for four cars. You might get four small cars parked there, but it would be very tight for space. All luggage has to be carried from the car to the lodge about 20 - 30 metres away. You cannot get your car right next to the lodge to assist with unpacking/repacking. Communication with the host could've been better. No confirmation message sent after we had either paid the deposit or paid the balance. One generic message sent 5 days before our stay with key location and postcode information was the only communication we had with the host. No visit or communication with our host during our stay. I sent a message for the wifi code (and inspite of Airbnb stating that there was usually

Beautiful location and lovely host
Wonderful views across the Dales and great hospitality! Comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. The family room we had was spacious and tea/ coffee/cocoa available in the room. Comfortable lounge area that shows how they transformed a dark farmhouse into the beautiful B&B they now have. The sheep are adorable, which are rare breeds, in this small holding!

Wonderful Stay
Our stay was wonderful, probably the best B&B my wife have stayed in. It was comfortable, beautifully designed and spacious. The owners could not have been more helpful and friendly. The views were stupendous, of course the almost tropical weather helped. Breakfast was just what we expected from a Yorkshire B&B. We cannot speak too highly of Throstle Nest Farm. Thank you very much.
