Property Description
Less than 328 ft from the Asturian coast, this boutique hotel blends the classic, the luxurious and the rustic in its interior design. It features free Wi-Fi access. La Casona de Pio is the beautiful result of the renovation of a fish-salting factory, 328 feet from Cudillero Port. The property’s original stone walls look fantastic against classic furnishings, elegant woodwork and decor like that of a rural home. Bedrooms feature flat-screen TVs. Interiors are decorated further with carefully selected paintings on the walls and antique items. Casona de Pío serves a fresh, home-made breakfast in the dining room. Homegrown eggs or bacon are available to order.

Fabulous little hotel, very quirky with lovely staff. Breakfast was superb, best we’ve had all holiday. Location is excellent, beds comfy and shower great. Cudillero is a charming little fishing village full of bars and restaurants and lots of walks.

I was so disappointed. I expected to love this place. The main problem was that the room and the bed linen smelled very strange. The breakfast wasn’t great either. They seemed so proud of their homemade stuff but the yoghurt was very very sweet.

We loved our stay at La Casona de Pio! It was so adorable and exactly what we were looking for for our stay in Cudillero. The hotel is fairly small and very well kept with friendly staff. Our room was sizeable with both a balcony on the front of the building and a private patio to the side. The shower worked well and the bathroom seemed like it had been recently renovated. The location is close to the center of town but very quiet. The town doesn't really have cars, so we parked at the large free parking lot by the port, which has about 6 charge points for EVs. Then we walked no more than 10 minutes to get into town. Be aware that the hotel's location is not exactly where Google Maps shows it. It is right next to Casa Mari Sidreria. Walk all the way towards the back of the town, then next to the Heladeria there is a sign pointing you to the hotel. We loved this hotel and heartily recommend it. I was sad to stay only one night!

Casona del Pio might be a very nice hotel, but my wife and I wouldn't know. When we checked in and were given our room key, we quickly discovered our room was right next to the lobby (room 101, if I remember correctly). Realizing we might hear a lot of noise in this location, we immediately asked if we could change rooms. The woman at the front desk, while she was very friendly, said that they only had one more room available and they had reserved it for someone checking in later who requested a room with two beds. She also confessed that they only give our room 101 when they're fully booked. Sure enough, we heard all the noise from the lobby: people coming and going, every conversation, etc. It woke both us up quite early and it was really annoying. Also, our "bed" was really two beds put together, so they could have easily accommodated the person who requested a room with two beds and also given us a different room. But then again, if this happened that person would probably be writing this review right now about how noisy room 101 is.

Superb family run hotel. Charming and traditional with clean simple rooms with good balconies overlooking restaurants. Basic but good breakfast choice. Located in centre of the resort 5 minutes walk from the free public car park. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

This review is long overdued! Regrettably only a night's stay on 9 May. The hotel is built into at the bottom of a hill, hence the steps to the reception etc. The facade, building and architecture is typically Austuriana and very beautiful. The reception is smallish and then off to the rooms on two upper floors. Not until breakfast (if you're having) will you discover the very beautiful and spacious dinning room on the first level which opens out into the balcony! Breakfast is quite a grand affair with a variety of cooked and continental choices served by the lady owner. If like me, you're a smaller eater than perhaps opt out. Otherwise, enjoy yourself! The picture of the room does not do any justice. The room is bigger, clean and spacious, looking out on the roofs of the other buildings. The bathroom is good size too. I think wifi generally is not brilliant in the area. And all the ladies were very friendly especially Eva who was very helpful. Certainly recommended!!

A one-night stay in Cudillero on the Camino del Norte. Cudillero is a 2km diversion off the Camino, but it is worth it. A quaint, lovely little seaside village reminiscent of something in Cornwall, England. With fantastic seafood…. And this hotel is a little gem. The room was comfortable. The shower was fantastic. The staff are lovely, and so friendly. And breakfast was great. Everything you need on the Camino, and more. I would highly recommend.

Located in the center of town a 1-minute walk from the main square, La Casona de Pio, a homey B&B offers comfortable quiet rooms with real furniture. Our spacious room had large windows that open onto the quiet street below with a partial view of the town. The king sized bed, 2 twins pushed together without much of a gap problem, was comfortable. The room had plenty of storage and 3 outlets for charging electronics, but no safe or coffee and tea service. The medium-sized bathroom had a tub/shower combo with good hot and water pressure. There was, however, little counter space around the sink. The biggest downside was the poor Wi-Fi connection. Even when it was working it was very slow. If you want a real breakfast this is the place to stay. For 9€ you can get a multi-course breakfast with yummy full fat yogurt, a tray of breads and homemade sweets, crepes and cooked-to-order eggs with bacon or ham and toast. Cheese, fresh fruit and juice are also available. Good coffee is prepared individually. We’ve been missing eggs, so this was a real treat. Parking is at the marina outside of town and on the street leading to the town, about a 5 to 10 minute walk depending on where you find a space. You can drive fairly close to the hotel to drop off luggage. The hotel is a little difficult to find using Google maps. The best place to drop off bags is on the main square near the ice cream shop (on right side with your back to the harbor). From the ice cream shop a narrow alley way leads to the street behind where the hotel is located.
