This hotel was our base for three days when visiting Cusco, and the Sacred Valley, then on our way back from Machu Picchu. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. J.D. and the other front of house staff were great, were proficient in English, knew the area, and patiently and graciously dealt with a few incoming calls and requests that I hadn't planned. Our trip was for our 25th wedding anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. The room was clean and had what we needed, the bathroom was also clean and the shower was very nice with ample hot water and good pressure. The location is on the main narrow street that is maybe 3 blocks from the main square so everything is close. The hotel in a former residence in a world heritage site and has been fully restored. Breakfast was very good and the operator (I forget names easily) was efficient, friendly, and a good cook. Our stay was special because the service here is not available at affordable hotels in the U.S. There was a slight drain odor the first night, but housekeeping must have noticed and rinsed the floor drain in the bathroom and all was fresh the other nights.
