We recently stayed at the Marriott in Daegu and were extremely disappointed with our experience.
First, there was visible fungus (mold) on the ceiling of the shower, and the edges of the shower were rotten and covered with mold as well (as we say in Korean, kompang-i). It was very unhygienic and unacceptable for a hotel of this level.
Second, the air conditioning did not work. We woke up in the middle of the night sweating because the room temperature was 27ยฐC. We called the front desk around 1:30 AM, and they informed us that the maintenance team had turned off the AC and forgot to turn it back on. How can this happen in a hotel like Marriott?
Third, although the parking fee was supposed to be included, we were still charged 8,000 KRW. The hotel staff explained that it was because the car information was not entered in timeโsomething we believe should have been handled properly by the front desk.
Lastly, the breakfast buffet was underwhelming. While there were several options, the overall quality and freshness did not meet expectations.
We do not recommend this hotel. This experience was far below what we expect from a Marriott.
