Property Description
Our Waterfall Cottage is a 2BR/2BA vacation home within sight and sound of the iconic 50 ft tall Cane Creek Falls. Large screened porch, wood-burning fireplace, WiFi and more on Cane Creek. It is located in the very unique and special location inside the several hundred acre Glisson Camp and Retreat Center. There is a small enclave of privately owned cottages, which are accessible at all times. Ours is the second one downstream at the base of the falls. A large screened porch with dining table and comfortable seating area and other viewing areas will give you the sense of really being with nature as the cottage is about fifty feet from Cane Creek. Lots on either side are vacant and Falls Mountain is behind the cottage. It has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed and two full baths, fireplace (operational October through March) & we supply Duraflame 3 hour logs (1 per night), free WiFi, Smart TV via Amazon Fire TV stick with YouTube TV, Hulu, Netflix & Prime Video, land-line phone with unlimited USA long distance (cell service is spotty), lower covered deck with porch swing. Breakfast is not provided, but we do provide coffee and all the basic needs for cooking. There are no dishwasher or laundry facilities. We provide camp chairs for you to take to sit by the falls. We have a BBQ and provide charcoal. Cane Creek is a designated trout stream and is now open year-round, but you must have a valid Georgia license to fish. We use the Waterfall Cottage as our own get-away when not rented and thoroughly enjoy spending time there. There are hiking trails all around the camp and maps are located on signs at the welcome center and downstream of the cottage. The falls area is rich in history as a Native American gathering place with netting holes and petroglyphs etched in the rocks by the falls. It was also the site of a very early large water wheel electric generating plant. Much of the time you will find the cottage to be a very quiet and peaceful get-away. The camp does have retreats many weekends, but the main buildings and their cabins are not located near our cottage with the exception of the Program Center, which was designed after the gold mining structures of Dahlonega’s history. It is about 5 minutes from the Dahlonega Square. Some things for you to consider before renting this very special cottage: 1. Strictly limited to four people maximum including children, 2. absolutely no pets, 3. absolutely no smoking anywhere either inside the cottage or outside as the camp is tobacco free, 4. the parking area is about 90 yards from the cottage – you park and then walk toward the falls and then across the foot bridge in front of the falls and then up a path 5. two night minimum with some holidays requiring 3 niights. 6. The second bedroom has private access to the second bathroom and screened porch and there is a door between that area and the master bedroom, but access from the second bedroom to the kitchen/living room is through the master bedroom, unless you go through the screened porch, to the lower deck and up the outside steps. 7. There are about 10 private cottages along the creek inside the 400 acre Methodist owned Camp Glisson Retreat Center. In 2025 from June 1st to August 1st there are youth summer camp sessions from Sunday afternoon until Friday noon. The camp owns the falls, creek and hiking trails. We ask that guests give young campers their space while enjoying the outdoors during organized activities Sunday afternoon through Friday morning during summer camp. During summer camp guests can use the immediate waterfall area anytime the young campers are not there, which happens several times a day and during meal times.Guests can see the falls from the cottage and especially from the Adirondack chair area. Camp trails are closed during summer camp, but there are many hiking trails nearby and many lead to other waterfalls. Friday afternoon through Sunday morning during summer camp there are no children in camp, only the camp counselors. So, guests are welcome to use the immediate falls area. 8. We have 2 exterior security cameras aimed at the cottage door and the lower deck. There are no interior cameras. We turn the cameras on when the cottage is vacant. We sometimes turn on the cottage door camera until guests check in so we know they have arrived safely. We then turn them off.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.For sm kids may allow up to 3.About customRules:Camp Glisson rules: no firearms, alcohol outside of the cottage lot or smoking..About checkIn:Check in after 3:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.None inside or out.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 21.About events:No events allowed.

Great Cabin right at waterfalls Beautiful, clean, and nicely furnished cabin, right next to the waterfall made for a soothing and relaxing two-day stay. The owners are very nice and even supplied flashlights and access to the basement in case a storm during our first night would have required for us to take shelter. They also left some delicious chocolate chip muffins for us. Thank you!

Birthday weekend away Very very nice view of waterfall. It’s a little bit of a walk from where you park to the cabin but you get to see the waterfall. Nice place to stay

Beautiful property and so close to town We loved the view of the water fall right outside the front door. The cabin was very private and just a quick ride to town. Just a note, it was a bit of a haul uphill from the parking lot to the cabin. The owners were great and easy to get in touch with.

Cold Wedding weekend The Hosts were very communicative with all of my questions, especially since we were there for a wedding. I had logistic questions, timing questions, just all around anything I asked they were very helpful. Their instructions were very clear and concise. The day we arrived, there had been some winter weather and they were out there clearing a path from ice and snow before our arrival to ensure we could walk from our car to the house safely. The statement that this house is next to the waterfall is 100% accurate! The view from the love seat is of this constant beautiful scene. I wish it had been springtime so I could have had the bedroom window open to listen to it at night. My daughter wanted to bake and we cooked dinner. They had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The location is not far from anything you want to do. We did not get to do any hiking as we were in town for the wedding but we did get to go to Helen for a day as well as gem mine and the North GA Zoo. The beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of lighting for any room you were in. It was sooo cold that weekend but we still enjoyed the swing on the porch to enjoy the waterfall. It is a very quaint pleasant location. I would highly recommend this rental. Thank you so much to the hosts for allowing us to share their place with us!
