The hotel is large and has a swimming pool and golf course, so it was nice to use it. It was nice that it was quiet, and there was a large garden, so it was good to take a walk, and there were many restaurants nearby, so it was easy to have a meal. There are no nearby shopping malls and there is a beach, so V was good.

Be very wary of this hotel. They take money from your credit card without approval. they have charged me twice for the same night. Payment wa taken over 6 weeks apart too. The Hotel refused to respond to my emails until my company got involved but are still denying taking two payments. Will never use this hotel again., which is not a bad thing as the staff are incredibly rude and the rooms smell of damp.

The reception desk at King Fahd Palace Hotel is very elegant. The agents at the desk are very welcoming. Their demeanor assists in keeping your check-in process stress free. All staff members, from the cleaning crew to the site restaurants and bars, are very friendly and work to make sure that you are satisfied with their service. Our room was the best! The view of the ocean was breathtaking. The sound of the ocean waves at night contributed a great night's sleep along with the most comfortable bed and pillows! The cuisine was on point. My favorite dish was the Crispy Shrimp and great salad. Stay at King Fahd Hotel. It is thebestin Dakar! Dr. Linda itoja

Travelling for work, I though the room and room faclilities were excellent. The pool was lovely and I had it all to myself. The breakfast was ok. It took a long time to get a tea or coffee, spoons had run out and staff seemed generally overwhelmed. Some parts of the hotel seemed run down. Some of the reception staff were good but some were rude. Some of the bar and breakfast staff were good and some didn't seem to know what they were doing. There were a lot of poeple begging in the hotel lobby. It would be better for the hotel to donate to community projects and not allow beggars in the hotel.

This place is truly awful. I travel Africa for a living so I have experienced many lovely hotels across the continent. This is not one of them. The place is palatial - I would describe it as "faded decadence, a relic from the past". The rooms are perpetually damp and uncomfortable, with A/C that cannot be shut off so I spent much of my time freezing in my room. The WIFI is terrible, works intermittently in rooms and not at all in conference areas. The grounds are far too spread out with the conference facilities a 5-10 minute walk from the main building - making it unwieldy to return to your room midday. The food at the restaurant is barely passable. Worse yet, I put a "do not disturb" sign on my door permanently for the 5 days and nights I was there as I did not want my room cleaned and didn't want anyone entering without me there. Despite that, on at least two occasions, staff tried or did enter my room (once while I was sleeping, which felt a bit creepy). But the worst of all is that somebody entered my room and stole $200 (leaving another $250 behind with the hopes it would not be detected, I am guessing?). At first, the hotel management "appeared" to take this seriously. They interviewed me not once but twice in their management offices, taking copious notes and asking about lots of detail with lots of pomp and decorum. They said they had cameras and card readers that could identify who the culprit was and promised to take rapid action and get back to me soon. You know how this story ends - I never heard back from them, despite assurances that they would email me the next Monday upon my return to the US. It struck me that they wanted to put up a pretense of "looking into it", but the minute they realized I would not make a public fuss about the incident, they fell into inaction. So in conclusion, I would say the hotel is not very safe and management doesn't truly care about security issues. Go somewhere else. Dakar is filled with many wonderful hotels so you won't lack for choice.

I stayed there with my toddler. The staff is very friendly and helpful, taxi service outside the hotel at my convenience was great. The property is huge, but there is so much room for potential, for eg. The kiddies' pool, needs to be reconstructed, (it wasn't clean, and tiles are lifting around it) my son loves the water (ocean/pool) and he didn't want to get into the pool. Didn't ask to go to the pool for the duration of our stay. There is a supermarket within walking distance from the hotel, perfect for grabbing snacks/water etc. The club (kids play area), needs to be demolished and reconstructed (not safe at all). Our room was nice, we got the newly renovated rooms. The food- not many options ( we had breakfast daily, and dinner twice) Overall: such a huge property, there is so much that can be done to uplift certain areas.
