Dali Lily International Youth Hostel

This review may appear twice because I extended my stay twice. I originally booked one night, but I enjoyed the hostel so much and felt so comfortable here that I decided to extend my stay two more times, for a total of four nights. I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is excellent, with easy access to buses, the train station, the old town, restaurants, shops, and plenty of places to buy water or anything else you may need. Bus 4, which goes to the train station, is only about a four-minute walk away, the old town is around 15 minutes away or less, and the main bus station is also nearby, with connections to different towns and cities. The hostel has a very friendly, family-like atmosphere. There are travelers from many different countries, so it’s easy to meet people and have conversations. The owners are very kind, speak English, and are always willing to help. I also loved the animals, the greenery, and the peaceful atmosphere. It genuinely felt a little like home. The terrace was one of my favorite parts. It has beautiful views and is a great place to stretch, read, write, sunbathe, or simply relax. One day I spent almost the entire day there because I needed to rest, and it was wonderful to have an outdoor space where I could just be without staying inside the room. I stayed in a four-bed dorm. My only real complaint was the mattress, which was extremely thin and basically felt like a piece of foam. After four nights, my back was practically against the wooden bed base. I managed by using the blanket underneath me for extra cushioning, and when it was cold, I used the electric blanket. The gym and yoga area are a little misleading. The gym is basically in an area where some beds are located, so I personally didn't use it, and there wasn't really a proper yoga space. If these facilities are important to you, I would keep that in mind. Cleaning could also be improved. The beds were changed, and the trash was taken out, but the floors didn't seem to be cleaned very often. The bathrooms were also not particularly clean, although they were generally usable, especially if you wear flip-flops. Overall, I really liked this hostel and felt very comfortable here. The location, terrace, atmosphere, people, and family-style environment made it a very pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you enjoy meeting other travelers and having a peaceful outdoor space to relax.

I fell in love with Dali and I'm so grateful I had such a lovely rest stop in the Lily. Super chill vibe, great location, and all the amenities you need.

Very comfortable beds in this hostel and conveniently located, only a short walk to the Ancient town! It is ideal.

Location ok, near old town, and can see nearest mountain. But recommended not take many baggage for convenient.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lily Pad Hostel and would happily return. It offers excellent value for money and is a great base for exploring Dali. The hostel is in a good location, just a little outside the main town. It’s an easy walk, although you do need to cross some busy roads, which could be a little challenging if you’re travelling with small children. The room was clean, and the bed sheets were spotless. We also had a lovely view from the landing. There were some friendly resident bunnies wandering around, and we enjoyed having a ping pong table to use during our stay. The only minor downside was that the shower temperature was a little inconsistent, switching between hot and cold. Aside from that, we were very comfortable and really enjoyed our stay. We would thoroughly recommend Lily Pad Hostel to anyone visiting Dali and would definitely stay here again.

Location is perfect, just few minutes to go to Dali ancient city by walking. The owner can speak English very well. Friendly and helpful
