Connected Youth Community

A comfortable stay, with helpful staff. Lots of young people who were generally friendly and helpful. I think there's a good community here. The smoke from the nightly campfire was unpleasant as our room faced the front yard. Thankfully we managed to close the windows. The hostel is set in a village just outside the old city - about 10 minutes walk, I think. Very conveniently located near the #8 bus route to the train station.

Pros: Bathroom well-equipped with toiletries. Good sense of community, a lot of locals come to stay and they often have events. Decent bunk: mattress OK and shelf in bunk was convenient. Great location, close to the ancient city and convenience stores. Cons: Laundry area was a bit messy and laundry detergent is often out. Socket in the bunk couldn't charge well, especially if you use a travel adaptor. Room has no window, fan or air-conditioner, which can make it hard to breathe if people smoke in the corridors (common occurrence). Poor soundproofing which makes it hard to sleep before 11pm, especially if you have an early morning the next day. Overall, an alright hostel but definitely with its downsides.
