You can see the property is beautiful, but the best part of this unique hotel is the service. Dragon & Diego picked me up from the airport and Carrie took me on a tour of the houses making my first trip to Dali off to a great start! Be warned there are lots of steps, but it’s a beautiful walk with the breeze of the lake. The food in the restaurant at the lower house was great, the staff was happy to modify anything on the menu. Carrie was helpful via wechat throughout my entire stay and even arranged transportation to my next hotel. Superb service. I don’t have any complaints, but if were to reach for one it’s that the rug in the room needed to be replaced. It was quite worn out. I’ve already recommended this place to all my friends. There are so many photo spots so bring lots of outfits! Thank you for taking such good care of me as a solo traveler!

The room is very beautiful, with a large space and beautiful scenery. The housekeeper A Zheng is very simple. He checked in and carried the luggage to the room. We went to Building 1 for afternoon tea and dinner. We arranged pick-up. Because we were going to the ancient city the next day, we had to stay in the ancient city hotel. A Zheng was also busy moving the luggage early in the morning. The service was really OK. Next time I come to Haidong, I will choose the Mermaid Hotel again.
