Mercure Hotel Dalian-Friendship Square

✔️: The room is spacious, clean, tidy, and free of any strange odors. The location is pretty good, within walking distance to Zhongshan Square, the Russian Style Street, etc., with convenient access to subways and buses. ❌: The bathtub area leaked. The breakfast never changed; it was dry, unappetizing, with limited options, very few fruits, and hardly any flour-based items. To top it off, the fruit platter was rotten, and the bottled water in the fridge was actually already opened!

The hotel has a fantastic location, making it very convenient to get around to all the surrounding attractions. The room is a good size—not cramped at all—and overall clean and tidy. The front desk service is prompt and responsive, and the check-in and check-out processes were smooth. The amenities are complete, making for a comfortable stay. I would definitely consider staying here again next time I visit Dalian, and I highly recommend it for travelers.

During the National Day holiday, I came to Dalian with my family for a trip. The moment I got off the plane, I felt a warm welcome, especially from Ms. Du Yumen at the front desk. She immediately informed us that the bed type we booked was facing a commercial building, and she was worried we might mind. However, the moment I entered the room, I felt reassured – the room was still in the classic Mercure style. What I liked most was the heated towel rack in the bathroom, which perfectly met my needs for basic hotel facilities. All the staff were very friendly; we greeted each other every day. The hotel's location is particularly good, not far from Dalian Shopping Mall and other major attractions. You can take the subway for nearby places or a taxi for further ones. It was a bit crowded during breakfast peak hours due to the holiday, but breakfast hours were thoughtfully extended until 10 AM. When we informed the restaurant staff that some food items were missing, they responded very quickly. All in all, it was a satisfying trip.

Pros: Great location, right next to Friendship Square and just a few hundred meters from Zhongshan Square, making it convenient to get anywhere. The service meets Accor standards. Breakfast was decent, with a good variety. Cons: It's too old. The room windows haven't been cleaned in years, it's really disgusting (as pictured)! Also, the hotel basically faces east-west, so if you like a lot of sunlight, you might want to reconsider.

I came to Dalian with my wife, and I gave Doubao (a chatbot/assistant) my hotel requirements, which included: a central business district location, a spacious room, close to a subway station, including breakfast for two, and a moderate price. Based on its recommendations, we chose the Mercure Hotel. Overall, our stay was excellent and met all my requirements. The service was also very good, with extra refreshments provided every afternoon and evening. We even received a small fruit platter upon check-in, which showed their attentiveness.

The location is excellent, right by Yuyou Plaza subway station. The area is well-established and historic. The hotel service was outstanding; our butler was incredibly welcoming, upgraded our room, and even offered complimentary laundry service. They also provided afternoon tea and a late-night snack. We were very satisfied and will definitely be back again.

Fantastic! Great service and a good breakfast. It's super close to the subway, making it convenient to get anywhere. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Dalian. The bathroom is huge, and it's very easy to catch a taxi or ride-share.

Great location! It's within walking distance to Zhongshan Square, and very convenient for visiting Venice Water Town and Xinghai Square. The night views are beautiful; a walk around Zhongshan Square at night to see the European-style architecture is truly unique.
