From the moment we arrived, this breathtaking little slice of paradise made it abundantly clear that we were not just guests — we were family. Let me start with the island itself. South Water Caye is nothing short of stunning. Crystal-clear turquoise waters, powdery white sand, and a natural beauty so pure it almost doesn't feel real. What makes it even more remarkable is the intentional care taken to preserve it. This resort operates on solar power energy and even produces its own fresh water — a true commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship that makes every moment spent here feel even more meaningful. You are not just visiting a beautiful place; you are visiting a place that deeply respects the earth it sits on. But the heart of Blue Marlin Resort? The people. Unquestionably, undeniably, the people. From the very first interaction to the last goodbye, every single person we encountered treated us as though they had known us our entire lives. There was a warmth here that cannot be manufactured — it was genuine, it was gracious, and it was everywhere. Each team member was remarkably knowledgeable about Belize — its history, customs, traditions, and culture — and they shared that knowledge with such pride and joy that we left feeling truly connected to this beautiful country. Eddie was the definition of exceptional care. He anticipated every need before we even voiced it, catered to every whim, and made us feel completely at ease. The conversations we shared were some of the most memorable of the entire trip — thoughtful, warm, and real. He exemplified what it means to go above and beyond. Briana had a beautiful gift — she had a way of slowing you down in the best possible way. She taught me something I didn't know I needed: to simply pause, breathe, and take in the breathtaking beauty surrounding us. In a world that moves so fast, that lesson was a true gift. Mario kept the adventure alive every single day. From snorkeling to kayaking, to the absolutely unforgettable experience of swimming with sharks and stingrays — he made every excursion thrilling while ensuring we were always completely safe in the water. His passion for the ocean is contagious. We are already rooting for him to earn his scuba certification because the ocean clearly has his whole heart. And yes — I am still gathering my conch shells and smiling every time I do. Mr. Freddie and Ms. Roselia welcomed us with open arms and open hearts from the very start. Their warmth set the tone for the entire trip and made us feel at home from day one. Carmela and Bri — before we ever set foot on the island, these two were already taking care of us. Every email answered, every question addressed, every detail confirmed. Their responsiveness and attentiveness gave us complete peace of mind eve

This resort was amazing!!! We had a family of 30 and they made everything so special for us. We did scuba, fishing and snorkeling while there. There was a great 50th Anniversary celebration for Mom and Dad with dinner, dancing and music. Our room was always clean and nice to come back to after long days of fun! Thanks to Eddie, Santi, Richard and Amir just to name a few. We loved all the staff!

Eddie, at the bar, was great. Festive atmosphere complimented by Eddie's great disposition. We stumbled in to the Blue Marlin Beach Resort by chance. A great location to get below the tension line. The beers are the coldest in the territory.

Wonderful island atop the Belize barrier reef with authentic Belizean feel. Great staff and food. Very laid back and relaxing. If you’re looking for a huge crazy busy resort with bars…..this is not for you. BUT if you want to experience the beauty and magnificence of a small Belize island ,with all the modern conveniences, this is for you. This was our second stay and we’re already planning a third. Love this place.

A week at Blue Marlin is a true escape! I stayed in a cabana steps from the water. A hammock on the porch was perfect for mornings and evenings and afternoon naps. The food was excellent everyone on staff was fun friendly and so attentive. Snorkeling excursions were a highlight I saw so many fish a large turtle rays of all kinds and nurse sharks . You can snorkel off the dock and the end of the island as well. If you are looking for a secluded getaway live to snorkel dive or fish this is the place. Like everywhere it will rain some when it did I still got in the water, took a 90 min massage w Shanika who was amazing! Worked out several back and neck issues I was having, and don’t forget to just relax I read a whole book in my hammock one rainy day. Thanks to Amir Nelson Shaq Tommy and Stacey for my water adventures . Cliff and Gilberto my attentive friends at every meal the chefs for always preparing a meat free alternative and all the delicious food the girls who cleaned my house it seemed several times a day everytime I came back it was freshened up! Bree and Mariel are there planning your day with you making suggestions and just generally making everything as perfect as they can! I traveled alone on this trip and enjoyed my space and quiet time but also never felt alone as all the staff quickly felt like friends and always stopped to chat and check in with me. I honestly miss them all! I rarely travel to the same place twice but I will return to blue marlin!!!

The Blue Marlin Beach Resort was an absolutely perfect place for our honeymoon! My wife loves scuba diving but gets kind of seasick on long boat rides - being able to get to truly phenomenal reef dives in 5-10 minutes was a game-changer for her. Amir is such a remarkable dive master - calm, knowledgeable, observant, thorough - it made the whole experience an undiluted pleasure from start to finish. The resort itself could not have been more ideal. It was so peaceful and quiet, and the food at every meal was delightful, without exception - Cus is a very talented chef. We had some of the best massages of our lives right out next to the water, with the sound of the waves the whole time - really magical. The entire staff was friendly, open, and welcoming. We were very sorry to leave and eager to return!

Sailed to Belize with family on a catamaran we stopped Blue Marlin Beach Resort and Eddie made us the best drinks and was fantastic! He was beyond nice and the atmosphere was low key and the perfect island experience. We all had the best experience.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Blue Marlin. We had a wonderful visit. Their slogan, come as strangers, leave as family, is perfect. Our cabana was comfy, dining was exceptional, staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. Thank you all for a memorable vacation!

Our stay was fantastic. Not 1 complaint. We were greeted at the dock with tropical drinks and a smile. We stayed in Hanna's Haven Cabin 14. The cabana had everything you needed. Daily housekeeping by Brianna kept it clean and neat. Chef Cuz created delicious meals with great presentation, served with a smile from Eddie, Jovie, or Estella in a beautiful open-air setting. Even prepared birthday cake with candles for my husband's birthday. Enjoyed several snorkel tours. Amir is very knowledgeable about marine life. Tommy, Michael, Jordy and Jamie made a great crew. Stayed for 12 days and enjoyed every minute. This is a 3rd generation family run property. If you wanted or needed anything, you got it with a smile. Couldn't have asked for more. Hanna was our first contact. She arranged everything from hopper flights, inland taxi to harbor and boat transfer to island. She was patient in responding to all of my pre-trip questions.

I have been coming here with my family every summer from 2018 to now, this resort is an amazing getaway and vacation spot we always have tons of fun snorkeling , fishing, scuba diving, and doing land activities. The food always taste amazing and all the staff are so kind.

Blue Marlin Beach Resort is a beautiful, idyllic, island resort that hosted my wife and I in January 2025. The resort is magnificently managed and run by a multi-generational, extended family of Belizeans that quickly included us as part of the family. They took exceptional care of us from our very late weather delayed arrival to our last day on the island. The coral island, covered with palm trees and continuously maintained, has several lovely, well-spaced private cottages. The family knows the reefs and guides with first hand knowledge. Snorkeling for a week, a couple times a day, with these guides and dive masters, was amazing and like snorkeling in an aquarium. The food was tremendous and the cooks and staff were lovely assuring we had whatever we wanted. We wanted fresh food, and the snapper and lobster were the freshest. We wanted to relax in the afternoon with a nice cool rum drink, and we had many to choose from to enjoy with our chef prepared afternoon snack. We wanted to hang out near the crystal-clear, azure-blue water of the Caribbean, and we were surrounded by it. Blue Marlin is a place to return to. The sun and moon rising and setting over the Caribbean are a beautiful site to behold every day on South Water Caye. One evening, on a January night with a rising full moon over the Caribbean, the cooks and staff prepared and served us our evening meal at a table they brought to our cottage and placed near the palms and the water’s edge. That evening created memories we will always hold. The cottages were beautiful with great, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, fresh water coolers, air conditioning (which we only needed once) and hammocks hung on the wrap around porch. Perhaps a green heron will walk by your cottage in the evening, or a small army of fiddler crabs may walk by in the night. The bonefish are pets. The island is fully run on solar power and has a desalinization system. The Belizean family that owns and operates the Blue Marlin Beach Resort has invested in the resort to maintain forward-looking island systems and a viable business to support the family. The only real beach on the island is at the south end, a very easy ten minute walk away through a university research facility and another small resort to the open beach. My snorkel directly from the beach out to the coral reef was another of the many amazing snorkeling trips we took. Cell service is mostly available. Wi-Fi is mostly available in the dining and bar area.

Enjoyable island stay with excellent and warm service very good food - mostly seafood and even amazingly good fresh lobster. Professional run dice centre - safe diving. Thumbs up for excellent dive guide Amir and always smiling snorkelling guide Abelito. You made our stay! Unfortunately the status of the corals were not so good.

My trip to Blue Marlin was perfection. Our room was spotless and comfortable, dining was relaxing and delicious, snorkeling was AMAZING and the tiny island was exactly what we were hoping for. We’re off the beaten path travelers but more “outsidey” than outdoorsy. Blue Marlin was just the right amount of comfort and adventure. We considered other places to stay on south water caye but I’m so glad we stayed at Blue Marlin. No, there’s no beach on the immediate property for wading but there’s beach access just a short walk away. I promise you won’t miss it! Do prepare for the sand fleas and take lots of bug spray- they show no mercy! It’s been a month since our trip and I am still missing morning coffee looking out over the water. The staff even surprised us with a very special anniversary dinner and cake. No detail is overlooked - Blue Marlin is an absolute treat.

Blue Marlin is truly a family run resort (in the most positive way)! I spent a week with my son diving the reef and the care and attention we received from the staff was amazing! The staff is passionate about delivering a great experience and went out of their way to make sure that happened. Diving- Each site is really close and we were diving by ourselves all the time Food- The food is very good and the chef is passionate about how to make our experience the best Resort- The resort is very well maintained and beautiful
