Griya Batik Giri sekar homestay is a fantastic place to stay. Very welcoming host and clean rooms also very near the famous Malioboro street & train stations. Definitely recommend this place.

Location with the city center close, just from the outside it looks quiet, rich, uninhabited.. but inside the crowd is quite worth it with the available price

If you go to Jogja, you always stay here because it's on a low budget. Location close to everywhere. It's just the bathroom and AC, maybe they can be cleaned regularly.

We stayed 3 nights, the common areas were big enough also with a kitchenette available for guests. The area was silent but not the guesthouse, continue noise from other guests starting at 6am. The room was also spacious although very outdated and dusty. We asked for cleaning and the staff accomodated our request. The other main issues were the mosquitos which kept us awake most of the night together with the other guests' noise.

Plus points: The location is very close to Malioboro, only about 400 meters, but when you first came here, you checked GPS, entered from the side alley & walked around to people's houses. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are also really clean. The employees are friendly, 24 hours ready. Also alert, when I got a room with AC that wasn't cold, I immediately moved. Minus points: There are no cupboards or hangers at all in the room, only in the bathroom. So it was a hassle because I stayed here for 5 nights, until everything was finally hung on the window. The position of the AC is right next to the upper body, so it's not healthy because the wind hits the body directly. Hot water using a solar water heater, only the first night the hot water came out, even though when I had a cold, I coughed up a fever, so I needed a hot shower, especially when I got back to the hotel at night, right? Complained, he said the hot water had been used up in another room. This means there aren't enough solar panels, obviously not enough if lots of people are using them. Of the 5 nights, the room was only cleaned once, and even then you had to ask first. Got a room directly next to the street, but the window directly to the street only had a blurry sticker on it, it should still have curtains too, because at night from outside you can still see shadows in the room, so there's less privacy.
