Starsea Hotel Dar ES Salaam

I arrived in Dar es Salaam close to midnight after a layover in Ethiopia. As it was my first time in the country, I felt quite anxious. After exiting the airport, I wasn't sure how to get to the hotel, so I called them to ask if they could pick me up. Although the hotel stated that I'd be responsible for the round-trip pick-up fee, I felt an inexplicable sense of relief when I saw that the person who came was the hotel owner, a fellow Chinese national. I had booked a comfortable king room, but upon arrival, the owner upgraded me to a sea-view king room, saying there was one available anyway and I might as well enjoy a more pleasant stay. I was incredibly grateful! While the breakfast wasn't as lavish as what you'd find in a Chinese hotel, it was still suitable and sufficient for a Chinese guest. I stayed for just one night before heading to Zanzibar, and though the process was a bit rushed, overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

This hotel is on par with a typical budget inn in China, maybe a 1.5-star equivalent. Facilities: It seems to have everything, but nothing really works. It's hot here, and if you turn on the AC, you need a blanket. Without one, it's too cold; with one, it's too hot. There are no spare blankets. Plus, there are lots of mosquitoes in the room. The bathroom has a floor-to-ceiling window but no curtains. Cleanliness: The washing machines in the laundry room are completely clogged with debris bags.

A perfect choice for business trips! The location is great and transportation is convenient. The room is clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and the Wi-Fi is stable, completely meeting both my work and rest needs. The front desk was quick to respond and provided professional service. Breakfast was convenient and nutritious, and the check-out process was efficient. No hidden issues at all, and great value for money. Highly recommend for business travelers!
