Let me begin by saying that I am well-traveled and I have experienced many different places in my life. I understand that certain places foster a certain culture and ambiance and strive to create experiences for specific clientele. Recently, my family and I booked at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Wisconsin Dells, and I had an idea of what to expect. Because we were going as a group - 9 of us, 5 adults, and 4 children, we wanted accommodations that would make things a bit easier on us. We wanted running water, electricity, and something sturdy to stay in. So no tent or campers for us. My sister-in-law and her husband and 2 children flew out from California to do this, my elderly mother-in-law drove in from Eau Claire, and my husband and two children and I drove from the Chicago suburbs. My sister-in-law’s family booked a Boo-Boo Chalet. My husband and mother-in-law each booked one of the “Retro Family Lodges,” which in actuality is a park model. In the past, my husband and I had stayed in park models before at other camp grounds, and the experiences we had with them were positive. The park models we had stayed in elsewhere proved to be spacious and pristine, met the needs of our family, and so we had no problem booking one of the “Retro Family Lodges” that Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park had to offer, especially since the pictures of said lodges that were featured on their website looked clean and sturdy. When we arrived, my family and I found out we were in “Retro Lodge” (park model) 159, and my mother-in-law was next to us in 161. The minute I walked in, I was instantly repulsed. So much so that I started dry-heaving and crying. I have personally seen slums in Medellín, Columbia that looked better than this park model and were in better shape. In this park model, panels were peeling off of cabinets, walls, and ceilings. All the fixtures were covered in rust. The side of the refrigerator looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in decades. In the bunk room, the ceiling was peeling, and was taking on a reddish hue, and I am not sure if that was rust, scum, blood, or something else. Three of the windows were cracked from the outside. Water stains were on the parts of the ceilings that were in-tact. There was a sad looking futon that was serving as a couch or sleeper, but I was terrified to sit on it. Everything in there was old, decrepit, and visibly covered in decades-old grime and filth that was firmly mashed into the pores of every surface. I shudder to think about what wasn’t visible, what lurked under ground and above me. My mother-in-law’s park model was worse. The condition of everything in the park model was the same as ours, only in hers, there were three holes in the wall, where mice evidently had come in, a pool of water around the toilet, and when she turned on the shower, rusty brown water came spewing out! We were sufficiently horrified. We informed the office and they told us we could move to one of the Boo-boo cab

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We have stayed in another Jellystone Park and it was the most amazing weekend so we were very excited to try this one in the Dells. We had the worst experience ever at this site. The staff was incredibly rude. The place was disgusting. The sites were not nice and so close to the highway that it was impossible to sleep. None of the activities were as promised or advertised. I talked to the manager to see if we could get refunded because we were not gonna stay due to the conditions of the place and the amount of disorganization. I was as kind as possible leg and he was so incredibly rude! He said he was very offended that I would say anything bad about this place. He told me that he would see about a refund. Never happened. They offered me a credit for one night which I told them we would never be back. The “parade” if you could even call it that was absolutely atrocious. We waited forever for the parade which is described in the picture below. There was literally nothing. They took us on a walk to the front gate and back! Are you kidding!? That’s not at all what it was supposed to be. No characters no music no lights. Nothing…. Also they were supposed to play cartoons that night and guess what big surprise there were none!!!!! I seriously cannot believe people are still paying to go here. Either drive a bit farther and go to Caledonia or Warren. I promise you will have a much better experience!!!!! We are now contacting our credit card company because we didn’t even stay a full day. This place is a joke!

The campground staff were quite undermanned because it was the end of the season so it was understandable, but led to much decreased camp activities for the kids and some miscommunication on an order placed for Yogi to come meet the children to deliver cookies and they didn’t show until really late…hours after bedtime. However, the staff apologized and repaired the situation in a very considerate way by bringing Yogi by for breakfast. It was a very nice gesture and went a long way to show they care. They also refunded us for the Yogi visit cost and provided a discount for our stay. The kids had a good time overall and if we were back in the area during a more active time of year, we would consider staying again.

I’ve been reading all of these ‘terrible’ Karen reviews and that wasn’t my experience at all. The staff were friendly, the cabin is what it was advertised as, and for all these bad reviews there sure were a lot of happy people. There is one caveat though. The roads are very narrow. If you’re going one way and another car is coming, it’s a who can get the closest to the edge to get through. So drive slow. The roads were definitely made with only golf cart travel in mind. Otherwise everything was a great experience.

My family has been going to this Jellystone for over 40 years on and off. It is time for them to update everything. It's worn out and it shows. You no longer can even get a refund if need to cancel even in an emergency. The 5 days we were there, there were maybe 4 -5 sites with campers or tents being used, yet they made us pay 25 to guarantee our favorite site. We arrived on a Sunday and the store was closed and so was the office. That has never happened at least to us before. The whole trip was dismal. There are just too many good places to go that at least put up a pretense at taking care of the campground and bathrooms, which were not clean by any stretch of the imagination.

My spouse and I took our small child to jellystone in wisconsin dells and stayed in a Boo Boo Chalet. Many of the poor reviews had made me nervous but we’re so glad we did it! The 4-sleeper cabin was totally worth the price! If you want to stay in a cabin, I highly suggest investing in a Boo Boo Chalet. The more rustic cabins (yogi & Cindi bear cabins) are still pretty pricey and are very rustic and basic. The Boo Boo Chalet cabins are very nice and, unlike the rustic cabins, they have a private bathroom and shower, a fridge, TV, and porch swing! Their sites are not very private but everyone around us was very friendly and respectful. In fact, everyone at the campground was like that! No one got belligerent, too drunk, etc. It’s a perfect place for families with small children. The splash pad was especially a highlight for our child. Plus, even though it’s only a mile from Wisconsin Dells Parkway, it still felt woodsy. It’s a perfect way to stay in the dells because you can easily access all the parks, shops, and restaurants, but then you can escape the busyness of the area when returning back to the campground.

Rude staff, unclean, poor activities, and very overpriced. Check in process was unorganized and difficult to understand the staff. Credit card was charged without authorization to secure sites together even though we declined that option. Charge was refunded when staff was confronted but they were extremely rude and aggressive about it.

DO NOT CAMP HERE!!!!! A storm hit the site 7/28/23. the tornado alarms went off so my family (group of 7) were instructed to go to an open pavilion where we were at the storms whim. Our family and others barricaded ourselves in the bathroom, there were about 25 of us. 10 of the 25 were children under ten. The employees tried to forcibly remove us from the bathroom. They began screaming and banging on the door. The employee Brittany tried to fight me to get us out, making threats to me. when the storm was over, trees were knocked down. Not once did an employee stop by our site or anyone's nearby to check on us. our site was completely destroyed by the storm. So don’t. camp here they do not care. The staff is not trained on how to prepare or handle for crisis!!! They will not help you or keep you safe!!
