Villa Bellavista Alba, B&B

Lorena is a fabulous host, providing a beautifully clean, well appointed suite. Her breakfast is over the top, with a huge assortment of choices! When she learned we did not have a rental car, she offered to get us from the train station. She is lovely and her place is lovely! Highly recommend!

Incredible location with a view of the whole valley, several castles and even the Alps on a clear day! It was a perfect sanctuary after a busy touristy day visiting wineries and the Langhe small towns. The host Lorena was amazingly helpful and responsive from the very beginning when we booked to the end (do follow her suggestions of restaurants and wineries!). We had the largest suite with views of both garden and a balcony to the valley. It was spacious and super comfortable and had excellent amenities so one could just have an evening in without going out for dinner. The breakfast was “abundantly abundant”… actually perhaps a bit much for us who usually eat a light breakfast especially if we went out to eat the night before. So we skipped it on the last couple of mornings. But the spread was magnificent and filled with homemade goodies and local products and could really be a solid brunch to hold one til dinner! You do need a car for this location. But the location is really convenient, only a few minutes from Alba, Barolo, Grinzane Cavour, etc. Really: look no further!

I booked and had to pay in advance for 4 nights here. I usually don’t like to do that but the reviews were all so good it seemed like a great place to stay so I did. Unfortunately I had rented a SUV and the agency gave me a large Hyundai. It was not the best for Italian roads. I’m used to driving in Italy. I’ve driven all over including the Amalfi Coast numerous times. However when I saw the roads approaching this place some of which were partially dirt I wished I was at Amalfi. We arrived at Bellavista tired from the experience. Lorena greeted us and she is pleasant. She is proud of the facility as she also lives there. She and her husband renovated the place. The views are nice. She had made dinner reservations for us which entailed going down the other side of the mountain, up another mountain to a quaint tiny town I never would have found. Dinner was wonderful. The drive back at night was an adventure I never wanted to repeat. My wife was in tears. I’m a New Yorker and used to difficult drives but this could potentially be deadly. I told Lorena the next morning we had to leave and why. I offered to pay for 2 nights but wanted 2 back. She said no, you paid for 4. IF I can rent out the room I’ll give you a refund. I was upset and said now I know why you make people pay in advance and we left. Do yourself a favor don’t pay in advance if you book this place

Loved our stay. Our hosts really went out of the way to help us and to find great suggestions for this amazing area, they were able to book restaurants for us at breakfast. It’s out of town and on the hills which was perfect for us. Beautiful views and a truly great breakfast. This was a wonderful bed and breakfast. Thanks Lorena!

Before booking a room at Villa Bellavista I read many of the other reviews and relied on them to make my decision. I can say that in my experience here that ALL POSITIVE reviews are accurate. The rooms are recently remodeled in a high end fashion. They are super clean and spacious. Pictures do not do the rooms justice. They are really nice and new. The rooms come with a refrigerator stocked with drinks and a bottle of wine complimentary. The breakfast is amazing having EVERYTHING you could possibly want. Lorena will WANT to make you a special breakfast upon request. She is a great cook. Lorena will go out of her way to make your stay very, very special. If this B&B is available and in your budget look no further and book it. You will be glad you did. In 50 years of travel I have never been treated so special as here, Lorena is amazing. Also, we will recommend great places to eat and save you a lot of time doing so.
