Hotel Chiniu

Hotel Chiniu was the perfect place for our April family vacation. The hotel is located right at the beach and is a magical place to watch the sunrise, swim during the day, and is safe to walk even at night. We had a room with air conditioning that slept four people, there was one queen-sized bed and two twin beds. The sleeping quarters were separated from the bathroom and shower area which was not air-conditioned but was perfect for drying bathing suits and towels at night. We had wifi in the room but the wifi near the bar/restaurant area was very fast in comparison. Each morning we enjoyed an included breakfast of which the menu slightly changed each day but included fresh juice, coffee or hot chocolate, a fresh fruit plate as well as eggs and arepas. The hotel staff were very friendly to us and accommodated our needs during lunch times, dinners, sweet breaks in the afternoon and cocktails at night. We also arranged a tour through the hotel to visit the Rio Palomino. The tour company was on time and very professional and our local guide was very knowledgeable about the river. One caveat is we should have brought more sunblock or sun clothing for the long beautiful float down the river. On our last day the sunrise was breathtaking and we were able to get a view of the La Sierra Nevada, and Pico Colon and Pico Bolivar. We also met the owners on our last day there who were very friendly and made sure we knew we were welcome back in the future. We had a memorable vacation and felt so safe and comfortable while there.

Stayed 5 nights in the Chiniu Hotel in August and loved the hotel. Beautiful setting with two lovely pools. For once the hotel and pools were actually better in reality than depicted in the photos. Great beach right on the doorstep. Food was OK, not brilliant. Breakfast was a bit stingy as they charge for water or extra coffee. Availed of the Hotel Taxi service from Ever a few times and he was very friendly, reliable and reasonably priced.

Definitely not a boutique hotel. The beds and pillows were hard. The clean towels in the washroom smelled like urine. The mosquito netting on the shutters were dirty and room very plain. Nothing in your fridge is included- no tea or coffee courtesy In your room. Went to play pin pong with the kids and ball was broken, soccer table no ball. The pool looks bigger in the picture than what it actually is. The atmosphere dead and boring. Wifi extremely slow. Unable to work the tv. At check in we were told the rules of the place - didn’t seem very welcoming…don’t lose key because it’s expensive to replace. No food in your room. No loud music. No Pool after 830 pm …no no no etc. Anyways would of been helpful with a welcoming card that list the rules along with where to find things or what restaurants or activities near by. Nothing was given. Breakfast. Not enough. Left feeling hungry. Only positive is nice food presentation and nice staff. The hotel would been good it was half the price because that’s all it’s worth if that. Definitely expensive for what u get.

Just as announced, quiet environment and decent local food. We went in high season, large group and stay all days on the hotel, plenty of resources for kids and family to play. Beach is not For swimming, just For the photos. Tons of birds around the place.

Recently stayed at Hotel Chiniu 11/30-12/4. Paradise is how I would describe our stay. Check in process was fast and welcoming. We arrived around 7pm and we were asked if we would be having dinner at the hotel. We said yes and they immediately called the restaurant to let them know we would arriving shortly. Breakfast was included and consisted of fresh fruit, fresh juice, coffee and choice of hot breakfast made to order. There were also other options to choose from. Their menu is quite extensive and every meal we had was better than the last. The flavors was scrumptious and presentation on point with any Fine dinning restaurant. All the wait staff and restaurant staff were friendly, courteous, and accommodating to any special request. The hotel has numerous activities and tours available. Massages are also available. They assisted with our transportation for our departure. Overall I would give them the highest recommendation and would recommend 100%. Thank you for everything Chiniu Hotel, los llevo en mi corazon. We received a recommendation from a friend on this hotel. It was a super nice experience. In front of the beach with the sound of the waves. Nice and variety food in a lovely restaurant. Service is always around you. Thank you Oliverio for your kind attention and also from your team

This is an amazing place to relax, to enjoy of amazing food and great service. Everybody makes you feel like home. Can't wait to come back! You gotta try the roasted chicken, the totopos costeños and the posta negra 😍😍
