Just got home from a 3 night stay at Downton Lodge. Such a peaceful and welcoming place, well away from any hustle and bustle, but with easy access to the river Dart and Dartmouth itself.
Nothing is to much trouble for Andrew and Martin, they make you feel very welcome and at home.
The rooms are beautifully finished and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, quality ingredients, beautifully cooked to order and served in the lovely breakfast room with great views of the Devon countryside.
All in all, a great little break. We will be back.

What a wonderful place to stay from start to finish!!! Set in the countryside with lovely views across the hills. Delightful rooms and so much thought has gone into the visitor experience it’s hard to fault at all. Lovely breakfast prepared by the hosts Andrew and Martin who are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend.

We stayed here for three nights and everything was excellent. The attention to detail and food were fantastic and the two hosts Andrew and Martin were fantastic. We will be going back again

Martin and Andrew have a keen eye for detail, and everything is to a high standard. The beds were very comfortable. Excellent selection of tea and coffee and other beverages. I was glad I had my Earl Grey with me. I appreciated the fresh milk. We never had the breakfast as we were sailing each day. Very quiet location.

This was the perfect place for our last minute break. Wonderful thoughtful and gracious hosts Martin and Andrew were professional and friendly all at the same time, and their BandB was everything we could have wanted. Lovely snowy white linen - even proper napkins at breakfast, the room comfy and little things like plugs and mirrors in the right place for phone charging and hairdryer were much appreciated. Peaceful and tranquil, lovely views, Dartmouth and Dittisham easily accessible, the property full of interesting objets d'art, a hospitality area for hot drinks, an honesty bar. Breakfast was hot, beautifully presented, cooked to order. I can't think of anything that wasn't just right. Thankyou Andrew and Martin.

We've just enjoyed a wonderful week-long break at Downton Lodge. Andrew and Martyn are wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts were beautiful and the conversations were lovely. Our room was immaculate and the views are fabulous!

We had an amazing stay ! Very welcoming hosts, immaculate room and nourishing breakfast (gluten free option provided for myself without any issues and it was delicious) - all that in a peaceful location! What else could you ask for ! We will be back if in the area and will highly recommend ! Thank you x M&J
